I love this song. It takes me back to sad, but valued memories. My foster son, who passed away in Melbourne, Australia in 1993, before his twenty-third birthday, would play this song on repeat until he would fall asleep. The lead singer, Alex Smith, put so much emotion into this song. Each time I hear it, I am close to tears. He seems to speak for TJ who, at the time, knew that he was terminally ill. Thank you so much for sharing this piece of Australian magic with the rest of the world.

This is one of those songs you can listen to a million times and STILL find something amazing in his voice!!! I don't know how I ever missed this when it was first released. Just discovered it the other day as bumper music on a radio show.

I did this song in American sign language. I believe it's about a little boy who has autism and people ignore him. It was very emotional to sign to this song. I felt a little boy in my soul...

I am the guy who sang through microphone in 1985 at Birkenhead POint Concert which you headlined over The Kevin Borich Express, George Smilovic and Dave Dobbyn and DD Smash, and you guys were brilliant. I remember this song came out in late '82. I heard it maybe twice and fell in love with it. Unfortunately, I couldn't find it in any record store for whatever reason. Fortunately, it was rereleased for whatever reason in '89 and I was able to obtain it. I believe this song is as close to musical perfection as there may ever be.

Totally love the cool way Alex takes control of Le Audience by letting them sing the refrain and then running off stage like a skinny pixie after nailing the ending. His denim jacket is amazing!!! He had considered sprinkling "pixie dust" on the front row but in the end decided not to do so. Alex was wearing Judy Garland's booties for this appearance.

Alex is the best muso in the smith family. Sorry greedy smith from mental as anything. Another Aussie super muso family like the youngs with angus and his 2 brothers. Also farrelly bros ( sorry about spelling) from inxs and the list goes on. I dont care if no one agrees with me but Alex was a great singer, great song writer and is handsome and sits on the top of this heap of Aussie bands
