For the black bag use 50% acrylic 50% cotton yarn using hook size 6mm and do the width about 25chains depending how long you like it then 10 rows, or a height that u like. Hope that helps

~ ultimate granny square bag guide ~ yarn weight: 4 i used a 4.5 mm hook (tried to phrase this for beginners so sorry for any redundancy 😭) ch: chain dc: double crochet ss: slip stitch r: round ~ granny squares: r1: 39:20 magic ring ch5, 3dc, (ch2, 3dc) x 2, ch2, 2dc ss into 3rd chain from the ch5 at the beginning of r1 r2: 42:28 ch3 in ch2 space (aka the little holes that are in the four corners): 2dc, ch2, 2dc 3dc repeat all around 2dc at end and ss into third chain from the ch3 at the beginning of r2 r3: 46:13 ch3, 2dc in ch2 space: 2dc, ch2, 2dc 7dc repeat all around 4dc at end and ss into third chain from the ch3 at the beginning of r3 fasten off and make five more squares - 6 per side, need a front and back side so 12 squares in total for a whole purse in the ch2 space at the top corner of your back panel ch2 dc down the panel until you reach the end of that side, then ch2 to start the next row start next row in first stitch crochet to desired length to make rounded edge for flap: 1:00:40 i believe mahum crochets 8 rows for her flap from what i could tell at 1:04:25 ~ strap: 56:30 note that you need to make a strap long enough to make the sides of the bag and also your strap- mine was about the same circumference as a shoulder bag i have and ended up being 46 in/117 cm, but i wanted mine to fit as a shoulder bag so take into account your desired size and loop it around your arm as reference to see what it would look like when you wear it i recommend connecting the granny squares to make the panels/sides first so you can see how much of the strap will need to be a part of the bag’s sides and how much of it you’ll have for your strap if you end up using dcs or hdcs instead of waistcoat id assume you just do that in every stitch and chain for turning chain connecting the two ends of the strap: 59:46 ~ assembly: 1:01:35 🎀 happy crocheting!! 🎀 ~ lazy crocheter tips: i didn’t crochet over my tails bc im dumb 😭 so i just pulled them all to the bad side of the granny square panels with my hook and tied them together so they wouldn’t slip free because you literally cannot make me thread all of that in to secure it ^ i only did this because i knew i would make a fabric lining and it would hide the ugliness and keep the yarn intact/unbothered lol speaking of lining! instead of hand sewing the fabric on, use a rotary cutter with a 45 mm skip blade and run that down the ends of your fabric, sc into the holes and you can crochet the lining into your bag! or sew with a darning needle which is what i did alternatively just cut holes into your fabric but they won’t be as neat or will be much more tedious to make neat
