OMG, what a dynamic interview!! I cried the whole time. I am having difficulty expressing my feelings, what I want to say. All I want to do is to hug him and say, everything will be alright ONE day, because I went through the same thing in my life. I was not as strong as he is, and I caved in under pressure and got married which didn’t last longer than a year. Although I’m not a trans gender, but I am gay. At least he has his family’s support, I did not. In fact, I was humiliated by my own immediate and extended family. Specifically my mother, of all the people, I thought she would understand and love me the way I am, but she turned out to be the worse. I was cut off from the family and my older brother and his wife manipulated my parents and took everything from my parents. Sometimes I didn’t have enough money to buy food. BUT, I had courage and put myself thru school and got a good job. I ended up taking care of my mother in the last two years of her life and she died asking for my forgiveness. I even took care of my father for eleven years in nursing home who did absolutely nothing for me. He died blessing me. At the end of both my parents lives, my brother and his wife were no where to be seen. I didn’t do it out of love, but as a son, as my duty, AND MOST OF ALL, to have a clear conscience. Now I’m in a very loving relationship for the last 20 years and have been married for 8 years when it became legal here in the US for gay couples to get married. SO, one should not give up hope and stay true to one self. There’s always light at some point.
