The thing that really pissed me off was when Sakuta stood there accepting his fate until Mai came along and pushed out of the way. He was ready to die from that car hit. Then when he saw Mai he realized that he messed up. At least he got a do over again.

By the way, in the future after Mai dies, Shoko becomes Shoko Azusagawa. Even so, Shoko went back in time and let Sakuta choose a path with Mai. "I want the people I love to smile. Even if that smile isn't aimed at me" I'm a fan of Shoko, so a future where Mai dies would be fine....

This is one of the worst things I’ve seen by far in an anime, I was crying like hell when I first watched this and felt so depressed because I really liked the character. The saddest part is, sakuta was there to witness mai’s death and just imagine if you were in his situation. Seeing your own girlfriend dying right in-front of your eyes. This is also why I just stick to funnier animes and don’t watch romance animes because of this.
