So glad to see a horror game where what happened is what happened. Plot isn't inside the main characters head, character is not mad and is not hallucinating. Just a great story with high stakes that doesn't spiral into madness of "it was aaaall a dreeeeaaam"

Yeah, Psychological Horror is grossly overused these days. Sometimes it's best to just stick with the classics...ghosts, monsters, evil cults, etc.

It was all a dream really only works in a few movies, like American psycho where it's like... But was it though? But when the final scene of the movie is a slow back out shot of the main characters eye in a coma or whatever than yeah. That's shit

What a strong idea for a story. They use a captured siren to crash ships and loot them legally because its on their property. But they have to feed it victims to keep it from dying, so they try to record the siren's music so they can do it any time they want. Someone pay these developers for the story and make this into a movie.

Honestly, I don't even care to play most of these games as I dislike playing scary games, but I love watching your videos. Never really scared by them, just very intrigued and eager to know the rest of the story lol. Keep up the good work mate

I feel the same way, those indie horror games mostly feel the same and are quite boring to play, but they do have very cool stories that are worth listening.

Thomas Evans is actually my ancestor! I didn't know the story regarding the Maid of Sker (the song btw, not this game lmao) and it's such a shame there isn't more on him and info on his tragic love story.

Couple things: Muses provided inspiration to artists. A Welsh hymn would make sense as what the Siren, or the artist, was inspired to write/sing by the Muse. They can't very well sign an Arabic hymn, right? "The 4 chairs" is a musical reference, too. In Orchestra, the players of an instrument will be ranked by chair number, usually based on skill. 1st chair being the most skilled and whatever the last chair is being the least (I haven't seen more than 4th chair being advertised, but anything else is like 4th - Nth place at the Olympics. Sure, you might place 7th, but we only really care about 1st through 3rd.) This had the practical effect of creating more "tracks" for a given instrument using parts designed for the specific chair, which allowed greater complexity and grandeur. Now there are two numbering systems, one being the ranking, and one being the parts, like 1st clarinet part, 2nd clarinet part, 3rd clarinet part, etc... which we call "tracks" in modern recording (like the difference between an 8 track soundboard and a 64 track soundboard.)

i really love the mythology of this game, i feel like it isn't particularly difficult to guess the twist about elizabeth, i think anyone who's played a horror game before can tell you her story doesn't add up, but i think it is still interesting, and just that final scene seeing the creature under the hotel is so creepy! thanks for covering this game!

No lie, in addition to the Welsh and Greek mythology influences, I am reminded of the film made for the Professor Layton series. It's the melodies being played together that made me think of it. There are two prominent melodies in the film which can bring a legendary city back from under the water, and during the final battle, the titular professor discovers a third melody that is used to defeat Descolé, a prominent villain for the series.

Came looking for this after Sker Ritual dropped. Interesting to see that such a lore heavy game produced a CoD-Zombies styled spin off. I recommend it, it's pretty good if not a bit buggy at the moment since it's just been released.

Wild how the follow up to this game is to have a wave based shooter akin to Call of Duty zombies. But story wise, it shows that the bad ending is the canonical one as Elizabeth has control while her daughter Arianwen opposes it. Having the player thwart any broadcasting to have the rest of the world descend into darkness.

This is a great game well worth the price I got it for free because of Xbox gold and I love the unique breath holding mechanic but the regular price now is only 20 bucks I think? For an 8-10 hour horror game that feels fresh and unique? I highly recommend it

The practice of salvaging goods from wrecked ships, was called wrecking. These days, salvage in the UK is to be reported to the Receiver of Wreck, an admin position that also covers the possession of royal fish on behalf of the crown.
