I worked for the Maid of the Mist from 1982 to 1986 and it was a privilege. It wasn't a job. The whole world came to you and it was great learning about different cultures. The work environment was outstanding; management treated us great and we, as employees, did everything we could to respond to their leadership and kindness. It was the place where I grew up, developed good work habits, and learned to deal with people. Thank you kindly to the Glynn family and the Schultz family. Best of luck on the launching of the new vessels. A picture of one is displayed in my classroom.

There is a poem in Tamil that even a thousand eyes are not enough to see the beauty of Kutralam falls. I am unable to imagine how many eyes may be required to see the beauty of Niagara. The color lighting of the Canadian side of the falls could also have been covered. Thanks for the nice video.

Thank you for capturing what I could not when I went on Maid of the Mist! I loved the ride but was sad I had nothing to show others where I had been. You have done a very good job of doing that for me. Thank you!

I went on that boat ride on my school grad class trip... I had never been more terrified in my life!!! I don't like boats already, but feeling the force of the water through the boat scared the living daylights out of me. When you're "under" the horseshoe falls, it feels as if the boat is about to tip over. Don't get me wrong, it was a beautiful, and amazing ride seeing the falls from that perspective, but it's also terrifying!!!

did they give you a life vest??????

Kszabus nope, just that thin blue plastic pullover that everyone gets so you don't get too soaked.

O noooooo! I'm going there in september and now I'm terrified. I might skip the boat ride...
@candie12307 жыл бұрын
Kszabus don't be afraid, just stand in the middle of the boat surrounded by people. You'll regret not going on it, if you skip out. It really is an amazing sight!

Luckily i've been to Niagra Falls numerous times in my lifetime, but the last time i went & road on the Maid of the Mist i was14yrs old.... I am going there this spring or summer & i'm definately going back to Naigra Falls & i'm definately going on the boat again.... It is so beautiful there... I will be staying in Buffalo, N.Y. at my sisters house & we have plans on going into the falls, doing the zipline & we are also going back into Toronto Cananda to spend some time in Canada... I use to live in Buffalo & Niagra Falls from 18mnths til i was7yrs old&we moved to Houston, Tx. where i still live today, but i moved to central Texas hill country of Burnet/Llano counties24yrs ago.... My step grandma lived in Niagra Falls, so as a child we went there about every2yrs or so... I love it up there so much

Mihir Kansagra no it's not the best thing to see... By far the Grand Canyon is the best place to visit in the entire 🌎 world.... After all it is the #1 Wonders of the World to visit on the 10best places in the world to go see... I'm going back there someday within the next year or two

"Niagara Falls is so "Majestic", I stop and thank God for the beauty He gave to us, I was at Niagara on the Canadian side, but the American side just as beautiful, you will have fun, learn the Indian history and get wet, raincoats mandatory"!!!! 😎🇺🇸🌹😊
@aliciagorsen97035 жыл бұрын
Cathy White you are so wrong the Niagra Falls side, is so much more beautiful than the Canadian side by far... Niagra Falls is larger & in the shape of kinda like a huge horseshoe, where as the Canadian side is small compared to N.Falls & it is not curved it is straight & nowhere near as gorgeous... However it is still pretty though..

I live about a 40 minute drive from Niagara Falls and go there frequently. It's always interesting meeting tourists who travel great distances to take in the site. Growing up in the area you always think that all of the interesting stuff is happening somewhere else. To date I have made three trips to Indiana. Two of my trips included multiple days in Indianapolis. If I can get my schedule together I'll be visiting the Soldiers and Sailors Monument again to do some research over the summer.

Do you have to go to the Canadian side to catch Maid of the Mist boat? Going there but hoped to not have to deal with crossing the border but will if you can't experience the falls fully without going to Canada.
@hoosiertim5 жыл бұрын
The Maid of the Mist boats leave from the Canadian side. If you have a passport and are able to cross the border I would do so. The close-up views from Goat Island in New York are great but you get a much better panoramic view of all the falls from the Canadian side. If it were me, I wouldn't want to miss either side.
@vaskylark5 жыл бұрын
@@hoosiertim thanks for the quick response. Yeah, none of us have passports and we are family of five so we were hoping to just stay on US side.

We're here talking to Catherine Hepburn's mom. Did you feel bad at all for letting Leo DiCaprio drown while you floated on the big door. Oh, look. Its the captain of the Maid of the Mist. Tell me.. Why do you think I didn't get the anchor job? Is my hair not fluffy enough? Im Like the great falls.. The bed rock of my life .. Eroding beneath me! Eroding.. Errroding!!!
