Hypomagnesemia, also known as magnesium deficiency, happens when you have a lower-than-normal level of magnesium in your blood. It can be mild or severe. Magnesium has a direct effect on the balance of other electrolytes, including sodium, calcium and potassium. While most of your body’s magnesium is stored in your bones, it’s only the magnesium dissolved in extracellular fluid (blood plasma) that’s available for use by cells and organs. Magnesium plays a role in over 300 metabolic reactions in your body. Magnesium is needed for protein synthesis, cellular energy production, stabilization of cells, DNA synthesis, nerve signal transmission, bone metabolism, cardiac function, glucose and insulin metabolism, regulation of blood pressure, blood clotting mechanism, etc.

Magnesium source are raw nuts, dry cereals, whole grains, vegetables, meat, fish, fruits, hard drinking water. Symptoms of mild hypomagnesemia include:
Tremors.
Nausea, vomiting, decreased appetite
Tetany (muscle spasms, muscle cramps and/or numbness in your hands and feet).
Abnormal eye movements (nystagmus).
Fatigue and weakness.
Symptoms of severe hypomagnesemia include Generalized tonic-clonic seizures, Delirium, Personality changes, Abnormal heart rhythms (arrhythmia) leading to shortness of breath, chest discomfort, palpitations and fainting. Nutritional deficiencies due to poor intake of magnesium include starvation., alcohol use disorder with poor nutritional intake & critically ill people who cannot take food by mouth and must receive all their nutrients by IV.
Deficiencies due to poor absorption of magnesium from the gastrointestinal tract include:
Diseases causing malabsorption such as celiac disease and IBD.
Gastric bypass surgery.
Hereditary syndromes causing poor absorption of magnesium (primary intestinal hypomagnesemia).
Medications which can cause interference with magnesium absorption
Causes of excessive losses of magnesium from the kidneys include:
Alcohol use disorder.
Uncontrolled diabetes.
Inherited kidney tubular disorders, such as Gitelman syndrome.
Diuretic, some antibiotics, chemotherapy drugs, anti-rejection drugs
Excessive losses of magnesium through the gastrointestinal tract can occur in diarrhea.
Movement of magnesium from extracellular fluid to less accessible locations can happen in acute pancreatitis and “Hungry bone disorder”. Also hypomagnesemia is seen in Hyperaldosteronism, excess lactation and pregnancy.
Treatment for hypomagnesemia depends on how mild or severe it is and the underlying cause. If the hypomagnesemia is mild, your healthcare provider will likely recommend magnesium tablets taken by mouth. If the hypomagnesemia is severe, you’ll likely be in a hospital and receive fluids and magnesium through an IV.

सर, मुझे रात को बिलकुल nind नहीं आती है, insomnia हैं, तो मैने you tub पे phd wali ka video देखकर chemomile tea, magnesium glycinate 500 mg cap, ओर evion lc order Kiya है. ये तीनो रात को सोने के आधा घंटा पहिले leno को काहा है. तो मे 15 , 20 दिन try करके देखु क्या? 15 दीन के लिये side effect to नहीं है ना? हिंदी मे replay Dena sir. please coment

Haan, magnesium ki kami se excessive sweating ho sakti hai. Aur excessive sweating ki wajah se magnesium deficiency bhi ho sakti hai. Par magnesium deficiency hai to aur bhi symptoms, jo zyada common hote hain, wo dikhaai padenge. Magnesium ek essential mineral hai jo body ke various functions mein madad karta hai, including nerve function aur muscle contraction. Agar magnesium ki kami ho jaaye toh yeh nervous system par asar daal sakta hai, jo aapko jyada sweating ka anubhav karwa sakta hai. Magnesium ki kami hone ki wajah se nervous system overactive ho sakta hai, jisse body temperature regulation affect ho sakta hai aur isse sweating badh sakta hai. Agar aapko lagta hai ki aap magnesium ki kami se pareshan ho rahe hain aur excessive sweating ho rahi hai, toh ek doctor se salah lena faydemand ho sakta hai. Mujhe neck mai pain hone lag gaya tha or baju tak dard jane lag gaya tha Mai phiysio therapy karva rahi thi kafi din se but koi fark nahi pada to ak dr ne mujhe megnisium ke medicine de to mai bilkul thik ho gayi but mujhe idea hi nahi tha ke multivitamin etne jaruri ho gaye aj kal body mai Ab maine vitamin d3 Or megnisium ke tablet or vitamin b12 lena shuru kiya

good morning doctor sahab Veri good information I have gone through kidney transplant before 8 years.I am having all the symptoms of magnesium deficiency. my blood test shows deficiency of magnesium. what should I do?can I take magnesium oxide aur magnesium glysinate supplement or anything else?

Sorry for late reply, in my opinion, it is always best to take natural food products that have good amount of magnesium unless there's a diagnosed deficiency, in which case there might be a need of supplement depending upon the level. B12 and D3 ki deficiency hai to I'm sure aap uska ilaaj le rahe honge. Jo bhi symptoms bata rahe hain aap, wo kai alag alag tarah ki bimaariyon mein ho sakte hain, check-up zaruri hai, aisa na ho ki bimari ki sambhawna ko andekha karke supplements par focus zyada rahe. B12 ki kami se bhi numbness aur cramps etc ho sakte hain, but it is essential that you see a good doctor (Internal Medicine) and undergo a proper checkup. Hi, unless there's a diagnosed deficiency, it's always best to consume food products with good amount of magnesium, such as leafy green vegetables, whole grains, lentils and beans, dry fruits, banana, avocado, nuts and seeds, and seafood etc.

The body can effectively absorb magnesium through the consumption of magnesium-rich foods such as whole grains, lentils, nuts, green vegetables, and dairy products, unless hindered by conditions causing malabsorption or the use of specific medications that interfere with magnesium absorption. Generally, supplements are unnecessary if magnesium levels in the body are within the normal range. It is advisable to refrain from initiating any medication or supplement regimen without assurance of blood levels through laboratory testing, as such actions may potentially lead to more harm than benefit. @@mehwish7760 Agar kisi vitamin ya nutrient ki kami blood mein nahi hai (lab test) to usko alag se supplement form mein nahi lena chahiye. Khuraak sahi rakhiye, physically active rahiye, balanced diet lijiye aur chinta mat kijiye!
