It doesn't matter if it's Chinese schooling or American or any, the main thing is that the children should enjoy learning so that they always remain curious for discovery.

This was fantastic! I am canadian and so this is the philosophy here as well. Kids learn by play heavily until 2nd grade. Learning too but lots and lots of play

What an amazing environment for children. . I think a lot of places around the world have similar set ups these days. I started school in Australia back in the 60's 🤓. So glad the world has evolved in some countries for children in the way of education.

When i worked in Vermont, in the states, the Pre-K through 1st grade curriculum was pretty similar! Kids learned the vlaue of treating others kindly, cleaning up their mess, and the kids were also very independent in opening things (there were kids safety scissors for kids to open chips or fruit snacks that didn't open) and there was always a kid sized broom and dustpan for spills, as well as a little mop/squeegee for spilled drinks. A lot of the kids came from high trauma backgrounds so the consistency helped them and their mental health considerably. I think the reason a lot of american public schools struggle so much is because of staffing shortages for the kids with special needs and mental health needs, so those kids disrupt or delay the learning of kids who do not experience the same sturggles. It's really easy for "charter schools" or "private schools" to claim their performances are better when they don't allow kids with behavioral/mental health /significant leanrning needs.
Happy for him. He gets many choices. That school cost a lot.

Hi Teacher Mike, that’s the day I met you in YCIS, I went to substitute teach there. Kai enjoys school and has a good relationship with his classmates and teachers.

Chinese education is creepy for me, no good memory im my school life, bring 小麦 back to your hometown is definitely a better choice
Seems very Scandinavian preK to me. Can't help to wonder if kids attending such schools in China will have a hard time fitting into the Chinese society as they get older, since creativity and independent thought is not really taught in regular schools there. Or, is this school mostly for foreigners with dual citizenship?

Yes, certainly children from that school will be very different from normal Chinese children, and potentially a danger to their own good. CCP does not really like people that think independent thoughts. That is very dangerous if you look Chinese.
Someday you can bring your son to go HK for tour by plane at Shanghai Pudong and Hongqiao airport and also the High speed train by G99. But if you take High speed train you can take China permanent resident card to tap on China High speed train gate machine and then go through to HK and after arrive at West Kowloon station in HK still go through to China take your country passport and China PR card and then walk through to HK sign the immigration card and then enter to HK tap China PR card or Passport can enter to HK b tqxi and metro.

Mr. Mike, You made the title of this video “Chinese Style? US Style? What kind of education we chose for my son? In an irony and even though you says you lived In Shanghai for 12 years, you still chose to have a beard !!!!! A lot of Chinese men do not go with the trend so they do not grow a awful beard like the Caucasian men in the United States !!!!!!! In your most recent video, you and your family are back in a rural area in the United States. So, in the end you chose the US Style education for your son just like you chose the US style beard !!!!!!!! In another irony you are fluent in Mandarin. I was born in the United States so I can not read and write Chinese characters. But, I am fluent in Cantonese, and can also speak elementary Mandarin. Since you lived in Shanghai for 12 years, I am sure you can read and write Chinese too, but your heart can not be Chinese even though you are married to a Chinese woman. In the old days, men of all ages and all different nationalities were clean shaven. There was no difference between a CEO or a manager or a doctor or a sales person or a waiter or a janitor, because all men were clean shaven and looked professional regardless of the kind of work they do which was indeed awesome 👏🏼 Ever since the trend to grow a beard started, looking decent and good went out the window since following the trend is way more important!!!!!! Men do not care that they look like gorillas 🦍 unfortunately which is so sad 😞 Please take a look at the Maka Lion KZbin channel. That little Justin is just like your son probably the same age as your son since he also started kindergarten this year. His father is also a Caucasian just like you with a beard, and have lived in Guangzhou for many years. Just like you he has only one son, and his wife is Chinese. However, his wife is Cantonese. The couple and little Justin are fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin which is awesome. Unfortunately, little Justin’s father’s heart is not Chinese just like you growing a beard to keep in style with the Caucasian trend !!!!!!! They recently returned to Las Vegas for a family vacation with the grandparents in the USA. Little Justin’s father is a director of a company in Guangzhou. I hope you are not upset by what I said since I am only saying the truth.
