Trying to find any components is nightmare

When measuring case capacity - If you screw up the initial waterfill, dry off the exterior of the case, then you can reuse the same case to try again. You can even use the water already in the case. You aren't measuring the water as you install it, you're measuring the weight of the water inside. As long as the case is clean and totally dry for the initial empty measurement, you don't need to start all over again with a completely dry case.

The 300 Winchester Magnum is a favorite of mine especially after putting the action in a MPA stock , now components are very hard to find

I stocked up on most everything I need for next hunting season. I'm hesitant to shoot matches. I'm also shooting a lot of rimfire.

Components are like a good woman, very hard to find... I have a great local supplier that is aways searching for components, they are costly due to the market, not Gunbroker stupid but supply and demand high. Luckily I've been only been looking for shotgun components as I stocked up well for my brass reloading after the last crazy time.

I use a manual from one of the power manufacturers as a starting charge. I doesn’t make since to me to start a new load without using a manual. If you are a wildcatter good luck with a work up. Someone new to reloading should not even think of working up a load.

“Working up” is the term we use to describe stating at or close to the published “starting load” and increasing towards maximum to find the performance and accuracy that is desired. It doesn’t mean making something up.

I’m able to find primers but very limited. I’ve been only able to buy a couple hundred at a time. On another note I had my 223 wylde blow up using factory loaded ammo. I was using 52gr hornady superformance 223. I was braking in the barrel and doing the shot ten and clean. I was letting it cool after that. On shot 51 boom! I was lucky but the ar15 is gone. Would love to get your input. I can email you pictures if needed.

Thanks John for your video on Reloading Substitutions. Questions to those more accomplished reloaders: Can I safely substitute Small Rifle Primers (CCI 41 or Federal AR Small Rifle Match) in place of Small Pistol Primers for loading 357 Magnum (while working up from a reduced load of 10%)? Like the multitudes of us, no SP Primers to be found. Reloading for a Ruger GP100 still to be broken in. Thanks to all.

From what I have read and can remember you shouldn’t have any problems, just remember the srp is a bit thicker than it’s pistol equivalent, stay safe regards from across the pond 👍

I have been able to get some CCI Small Rifle Magnum primers. Has anyone tried those in 6mm Creedmoor with Lapua or Federal brass that has small primer pockets?

These are my go to primer for .223, 6 GT, and 6.5 x 47 Lapua.

I have a question as a gun owner and you are a cop it doesn't bother me seeing somebody carrying a gun on there hip open carry but all I her by cops they don't like it so they I have been stopped six times for open carrying in the state that's open carry and say you have a carry license to carry seal why don't I because the law let's me open carry to me that's harassment

That seems to be a problem with educating both the Officers and the public. Often a member of the public calls in and the officers believe they are bound to solve the problem. I can’t tell you how many times I have told a reporter “that isn’t a law enforcement matter” only to be chastised with “what are my tax dollars paying for” or my favorite “I pay your salary”. To directly answer your question, I suggest you speak with an attorney who is familiar with your state’s carry laws. If you are actually being harassed, then you may have cause to sue the department which can bring about actual changes is law and policy. After a criminal case here in Indiana it is no longer permissible for a law enforcement officer to stop a person for only open carry.

There were shortages a few years back. If you didn't learn your lesson and stock up between shortages shame on you.
