A local big time ABRA shooter here is cleaning (with a brush) after each target. He won the ABRA nationals last fall with 4 perfect 200 scores. I have been cleaning after every session (without a brush) I shoot long range rimfire, my rifle has been running well, not scared 😱 to clean anymore

My Bergara action is stupid smooth. If I tilt it forward and back slightly it will strip and eject rounds effortlessly...it's actually sometimes problematic.

I have the Bergara b14 r carbon fiber trainer. I'm using the Timinney Custom trigger..about 8-10 oz,,also an ATS tuner and brake on the end. Good luck at the match. I'm using Eley ammo

Hi. Love your videos. May I ask getting into Nrl22 and Prs I purchased a Ruger Precision Rimfire and put a atlas bipod on it a bag rider and a vortex Venom scope and a more vertical grip from anarchy outdoors. Took it to range about a month ago snd ran about 10 different style ammos through it at 50 yards. From cheapest to center X and eley Tenex I was amazed. I hadn’t shot in 30 years but within a hour was getting half inch groups or better. Did that for two weekends in a row. Last two weekends I moved to a hundred yards and how can I say what a absolute huge disappointment. All the same premium ammo and I’d get one or two rounds real close and next three out of a five shot group off the planet. I know I’m not great but two weekends about 10 hrs of work and could not get it any better. Maybe once or twice 3 close other two 8 or 9 inches away. Checked everything all was ok and same as at 50 yards. Action screws scope screws etc all perfect. Let me back track a second I wanted a cz 457 mtr but couldn’t find one so like a 52 year old child I jumped on Ruger. So now I have some extra money my budget currently is around 1650 and I know getting something better will put me in open class which is fine. I’m not super competitive just wanna have some fun but don’t wanna come out like a idiot with garbage. Ok now a local shop has a cz 457 precision varmint mtr in stock. A little over suggested retail but even so at the price I could get rifle, scope rail lower rings arca rail and stop and lock trigger spring or even replace trigger with yo Dave’s new trigger and still have extra to save towards acc chassis. Ok sorry for novel but living on KZbin lol enter the begara. Looks incredible outstanding reviews , a stock I think that could work better for me till I save up for acc chassis. Also watching the pursuit of accuracy channel and chatting with Josh from it, he reviewed begara and said outstanding rifle stupid accuracy just a excellent rifle. But he is a cz guy completely and told me his opinion is go Cz like above and even change Barrel to a lilja and I’d be set. Said if I went begara I’d need immediate trigger like your putting in but otherwise should be ok. So if I went that route I found steel barrel begara for 940 online and at that I’d be luck I think with trigger and accessories to make it under 1650. I just wanna get it right this time and not make a second mistake. Btw I never would see myself with anything more expensive than say a begara. I just couldn’t spend voodoo money on a rifle. So any help you could give or advice would be super helpful and really appreciated.

I have the 457 and just set it up for my youngest to replace the Ruger. It’s a damn accurate rifle, but it still feels little. It would feel better (bigger) in a ACC, but I think the Bergara is a better option. MKM should have their extensions out soon and reloading the Bergara is so much easier than the CZ. The B14R just feels better to me in stock form versus the CZ457.

Look forward to seeing the build. Thinking of doing something similar so I can join the Nrl22 Australian competition. Will the stock Bergara barrel fit the ACC stock?

Recieved the NRL Championship email today. It says there to have data to 350yds. The sign-up info (i screenshot it) from the NRL22 website stated 450yds.

At the MN NRL22X match last month, there was a 365 yard stage. In those winds, only half of the shooters (45/90) managed a single impact in 10 rounds. The target was a 16" saw blade, which was used because it was the only "target" they had that was light enough to reliably show impacts at that distance. 450 is possible, but it would be incredibly hard to spot/score in a match.

@@DFOOSKING Right on! The wind at that match was wild. I went specifically to get in some practice under those conditions before Nationals. I've never been so excited to go 3/10 on a stage.

@@lastboyscout2950 I did okay considering my back was (and currently is) messed up. Started on the mover...I lept up onto the platform cuz my back wasn't going to navigate the step stool worth a shit. The double ladder stage sucked. I got maybe 5 shots total...my back was so tight. Felt like someone took a running kick into my back after the ladder. The 2hr ride home was rough. My whole squad bombed the 365yd. Oddly enough, should have been a stage 3 us usually excel at. My squad did the 30 second 150yd as a whole really well despite the mid-day mirage. Everyone had 6-9 hits despite the triangle being invisible. The trees and stairwell would have went better if I could think straight by that point. I rushed through them to be done. I'm hoping to be recovered by the Championship.

@@lastboyscout2950 you weren't the guy who drove over from Indiana by chance? I spoke to you shortly in the parking lot. The wind in Marshall that day was actually not that bad. We've had 2-3 NRL22 matches in SD this season with winds exceededing 30mph. Not to mention the negative temps. Wind is wind but I'm not going to get pneumonia for a monthly rimfire match.

I know bergara makes a carbon barrel and the steel one you have. Besides weight is there any benefit for one over the other?
@8541tactical3 жыл бұрын
I went with the steel because I actually wanted more weight up front. I would only go with the carbon for a young gun or small framed shooter.
@dsdragon833 жыл бұрын
@@8541tactical thanks. There are so many different things. I have read that carbon makes a stiffer barrel, etc but I old never find anything that would confirm this.

I sure hope you R14-R barrel is the steel version over their carbon fiber version. I always felt the the carbon fiber barrels would experience POA/POI shift during the heating/cooling cycles of competition firing. This was proven out by a fellow youtube shooter, X-Ring during a match over the weekend. He ran a B14-R carbon fiber barreled gun over his Vudoo which was down for repairs. ( was knocked off a concrete bench onto a concrete slab floor at a previous match by a young shooter) He talks about the POI shift at the 4:00 mark. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fKamaHmdesSdm9E

Depends on the model. I have had all levels of Bushnell optics. The flagship models are good to go. The Forge models are a great mid-price option.
