I remember those smart remarks from recruits, too funny. After doing PT, DS would yell "Drink Water!!!" where we would reply "Beat the heat Drill Sergeant! Beat the heat!". Some would say "Beat your meat Drill Sergeant! Beat your meat!". One of the DS heard it clearly and replied "Outfucking standing!!!!" and let's just say we pushed the earth slightly closer to the sun that day.

The only time we got to keep sweets is if the sender sent enough for the platoon, and every had to eat it. One guy got us 80 snack sized butterfingers so we distributed them one guy said "I don't eat butterfingers," Drill Sergeant was like, "If one of you doesn't eat it, none of you will." So we threatened to murder the guy, all 71 vs 1. He opened it. We started eating and he wasn't. So Drill Sergeant was like, he better eat or you all will throw it up. We all threatened to smuther him in his sleep if he didn't and I think we were all serious. So he scarfed it down. We still hate him to this day

In the Marines when I went through, if you got mail, tough shit because it was getting read to every body. If you got items from your family then guess what that shit never made it to you, and if by chance it did everybody got to share it. Every envelope was opened prior to you receiving it.

This is some of the best I've seen on boob tube. I used to imitate my Drill Sergeants all the time. In fact, I imitate a lot of people today in my inner circle since I've been retired from the military. Imitating my leadership while active duty was so damn funny. Yusha does this so naturally its on spot. He must really work hard to find others to help him make these videos. Great stuff. From what I've read on the GOOGLE he's still active duty. Our drill sergeant, who was the hard ass type, he had a brilliant thing he did though with us. Dog food! He’d have a big old bag that you could see was dog food, but he filled it up with M&Ms and other kinds of snacks. And when we did good he let us all have some. We loved those Scooby snacks! All I'm gonna throw in this thread is early in basic you hated to hear "Open ranks march! Half left face, etc etc" It was a serious bummer. If you did OSUT though by the time you're 16 weeks or so in, you hear that and it's a challenge. It means nothing at all man. *:-)* Over 30 years ago and a finished career and Basic and AIT is still a pretty clear memory. I was a ripped MFer when I finished training. I'll admit it was tough to maintain as I advanced in rank though. *:-)*
