Well done organizing your hardware; I have a similar problem with finding it hard to get rid of stuff I've saved over the years, in particular nuts, bolts and screws, been trying to organize my workshop for years and still haven't got far with it! I also tend to buy more stuff which might come in handy later, normally after watching mailbag videos 😀

haha. It's really a problem. I've recently tackled my small capacitors, 5% resistors, and all my logic chips. I learned a lot about all that stuff in the sorting process. I need to step up my label game on the hardware, though. It's all in general areas, but I still find myself pulling lots of drawers out.

I would quite like to see more on the eeprom topic as well as what you can do with those old network cards.

Yeah. You can add a lot of features to old computers by adding bios chips to old network cards

Surely you already have a UV eraser. Glad to see you can properly crimp IDC/IDT ribbon connectors now! My Guess: C-64 replacement power supply. Precise metric fasteners disappear into the ether. Allen wrenches accumulate.

I do. The cheap ones had such bad reviews. I was going to diy one, but my tests only worked so-so. I wound up scoring one of those commercial "Ultralite Production Erasers" on ebay. Sort of a lighter commercial one. I'm really happy with it. The C64 is a great idea. I actually have one of those death bricks that I need to take apart, but it would make sense if they decide to use the AC from that and fed DC in from USB. The guy was a computer nerd, but that was all the tech I got from that yard sale. Agreed on the Allen wrenches. I have a few complete sets of different styles in my bike repair section, and most all the other ones either end up in a box or the trash.

din cable was in the old days also used in audio equipment to connect speakers. so maybe????
@AnotherMaker

It could be. People also used din for MIDI, so audio data too.

M2.5 is a thing but self tapping screws from china (that I have) are weak and the heads are damaged ruining the screws.

Yeah. These things are pretty stout. About the only bad thing I can say about them is the underside of the head is more of a cone, so if you're not going into something soft and/or chamfered, the heads can protrude. Overall, they have their place.

I was gonna say what gpus are you putting those on brother. I have to order one of those crimper as well. I have 10m of really nice flat silicone cables I got off of ali. It's so expensive to accumulate a decent amount of hex key metric hardware. I've paid like 1.50 cad for some m8x50 for a project. In Canada the hardware stores only sell metric that you use a hex ratchet for and the Allan key stuff is beyond expensive. Canada's number system is a mess being so one to you guys haha

I haven't made my final GPU decision yet. I'm in the middle of assembling a lot of stuff right now. Being next to the US has its benefits and its drawbacks :-)

How're you getting on with the T56 now? Any problems? Thinking of getting the T48 for arcade board repairs, on expansion card projects etc

If there's one near you, Ace Hardware stores have vastly better hardware selections than Lowes.

Very cool. Will do. Right now, I'm finding roms in everything. They've been in the tandy and XT-ide cards I've done recently. I'm doing some motherboard hacking with the programmer. All the Atari cartridges etc use roms. It really opens up a whole new world.
