It's really cool how KZbin can unite people from all over that have similar interests. Thank you for being a catalyst to make that happen!

Congratulations on getting to the 200th Mailbag or as they say across the pond, Postbag. I believe I've watched them all. One time I went back & watched the ones you posted before I started watching. It helps to keep me from spending quite so much on Aliexpress😅😅 I've actually gone & ordered things I hadn't thought of because of mailbag videos

A small pile of tiny85 and mega328p chips like that was hard to come by just a couple years ago. One of the clone boards (pro, pro-mini?) I recognized distinctly as "Logic Green". These are useful, and with 12-bit ADC, perhaps in some ways superior to the 328p, but not exactly like it. This is a mega-haul for sure! Larry was way generous!

Ah, so those rollers are for those quick lift motorcycle stands you see in MotoGP. They are just a simple pipe frame with wheels that you hook under those rollers and push down with your foot and it kind-of rocks and lifts.

We used those stainless cable ties back in the 90s to secure feedline to towers. Until it was realized that they created a galvanized steel-stainless steel junction. And if they wore through the outer jacket of the feedline, they created a stainless-copper junction. They created rfi problems.

Yeah, on AM transmitter sites we couldn't even use the "heavy duty" zip-ties with metal latches - it would heat up amd melt through the plastic. Had to be 100% plastic.

Always nice to see a mailbag monday, and number 200 is extra special! Thank you for the video's (also the kitbuilds and other stuff). And thanks to the people who send all the stuff. Great community.

Happy 200th! I imagine those metal zip ties are to help out with your ever expanding Christmas light project. Be careful with those t10 automotive lights. I went down that rabbit hole when I was putting together a low voltage light system for the backyard. There are a metric shit-ton of variants in terms of colours and form factors, and I think I have most of them. Had to add a whole other storage box to accommodate them. 😅

Common use for stainless metal zip ties is securing rubber boots on joints in cars. Some may use an extra low profile locking bit, so generics might not fit everywhere.

As to the T10 / W5W bulbs and CAN bus, yeah typically additional resistor(s) between the supply rails to increase the current draw in order to satisfy the bulb monitoring system. The bulbs themselves do not talk on/connect to the CAN bus. If used in an unmonitored position, get ones without, or desolder/snip the extra resistors (like BigClive tames mains bulbs), as all they'll do is add extra heat and help fry the LEDs faster. One can also get adapter leads that puts täextra resistors external to the bulb/holder (might not fit all uses of the T10 style bulb - depends on how w the bulb is held) most are for bayonet fit into/onto a housing, like at the corner of a headlight assembly.)

Motorcycle stand has hooks that go on the spools. Then you just twist the stand and back wheel is off the ground, motorcycle being vertical. Changing tire and many other operations need or are easier with the wheel off ground (or removed). Or anything requiring turning the wheel when moving the motorcycle is not possible.

Canbus is thrown around on these LED's, but in theory it is due having the resistors that allow more current to be drawn, and not trip the bulb out circuit that relies on a certain current range. They are nothing to do with the CAN bus in reality, they are just less likely to cause an error due to a bulb being sensed. Saying CANbus in a listing is just another useless keyword really.

i relly enjoy your vids, and often find gems i had never heard of, .. i understand these are sent to you FOC by suppliers, …. but when i see a LED strip with a color controller… that has been around for 5++ years . nothing special, yawn .. .. i would caution that viewers like myself are looking to your “mailbag” for stuff that is new, unique, special and different… for which basic coler led strips.. are NOT. keep up the great work… but beware suppliers/vendors trying to get some free linkage /advertising… for dime a dozen (yawn) products.
@pileofstuff4 ай бұрын
There's a difference between "new" and "new to me". I'm not out there looking exclusively for things that nobody else has ever seen, just things that I haven't seen and am interested in tinkering with. Also, not one of the things in *this* video was sent by a sponsor, nor were they things I requested. The links go to search results, not to a specific vendor or product page.
