Is it possible to share not just one blog post, but always using the RSS way, a newsletter with latest 3 (for examples) posts (i usually use to receive newsletter like that, and I like because reading just one mail I can have a look to the whole blog activity of a week). Good question Giorgio, I'm not sure if that's possible with the set up we have here. If there is a way to change the RSS to show the most recent posts in each RSS update, then what you're describing should be possible. I'll look into it.

Hi Sara, It'll take some more testing to find out why. I would first check your site's RSS feed to make sure a new post was published to it over night. Without a new post in the RSS a new email will be sent by MailChimp.

For the RSS Items, how do I change the color of the title and read on font? the style tab only changes the color for the excerpts, list and end RSSITEMS.

You should be able to change attributes for all the email content as needed. If you can select the text for the title you should see some options to change color at the very least. I haven't poked around in the MailChimp editor lately though.

Great tutorial! I know it's a year old at this point but I didn't see this question on the comments below- if we update an older post with information (such as a correction or style) will an email go out since it isn't a new post- just some info on it got updated?

Good question! Updating a post will not send out an email. The email is triggered only when a post is published. You could possibly change the status of the post to draft and then publish it again immediately. That may trigger another email. But I'm not sure, I haven't tested it. Thankyou for a very thorough teaching on atomating in Mailchimp. I want to post daily to my whole list and this would be daily however I have over 13 scheduled images with quotes each day so I guess that means the subcriber would get 13 plus seperated email? Is there a way to send just two posts from each days scheduling ? ( I should add that I cant alter the scheduling as there are over 60.000 preset.

Hi Björn. This might not be suitable for this video but because I reached out to you about this video last week, I thought I connect this way again. After I was able to set my campaigns in two languages and had my first newsletter programmed, to be sent out on Tuesday, Mailchimp then however locked my account because of violation detection. I've sent them an email to let me know why and what I need to fix but they didn't get back to me yet. Do you know what the reasons could be? Initially I've inserted the subriber details manually and wonder if that's why. I have now imported them via excel. Do you think this will solve the issue? I appreciate your help. Many Thanks Bianca

Hi Bianca, That's frustrating that they did that and then didn't tell you why. I think it's because of the contacts you put in manually. Email services like MailChimp always want to make sure the contacts you've added have given consent to be contacted by you via email. Especially since the GDPR legislation in the EU. My guess is they did it because they thought your email contacts didn't meet their requirements. Hopefully they get back to you soon!

Hi Teegan, I'm glad I could help :) I found the MailChimp blog update email does pick up images from the blog post and put them into the email. It does not show them in the preview, but if you test send a copy of the email you will see the image. Another thing you can try is adding the post's featured image to the RSS feed. Hi Hamady, There are multiple RSS feeds in most WordPress sites including for tags and categories. You may be adding products to a specific category and you can use the category feed from there. There may even be a feed dedicated to WooCommerce products. Maybe your domain.com/products/feed will turn up a feed. Or there may be a special add-on to create feeds for WooCommerce products. Hi Maja, as long as there is a feature image URL in your RSS feed, MailChimp can put that in the email. I think I show that near the end of this video. And if your RSS feed doesn't have the featured image, I have a tutorial showing how to add it. When I was doing the tutorial the image was pulled in from the content on the page in the email when the test email was sent. Some themes have a function in the functions.php file adds the featured image to the feed. I followed each step up to getting my feed by adding '/feed" to my url and on my iMac I get the message that I do not a have an RSS reader and that I should install one. So I did that and installed "RSS Bot" from the App Store. I have no idea what in the world to do now! Can you help or is their another video that can help me with this? Thanks. Hi Cynthia, I think your browser was trying to be 'smart' but ended up sending you in the wrong direction. You don't need to install an RSS reader for this to work. Your browser thought you wanted to read the RSS feed and knowing that they're hard for people to read suggested installing an RSS reader. That implies that your site's RSS feed is working fine. You can add the RSS feed url to MailChimp as shown in the tutorial and it should work. Let me know how it goes! And no matter how old a video is you can always ask questions :)

Awesome! For the preview text try this one: *|RSSITEM:CONTENT_TEXT|* That pulls in the "description" tag content as plain text. I think the description tag content is derived from the "excerpt" that you can specify in the WordPress page editor. I could be wrong though, it'll take a little experimentation.

Well, I just found out that MailChimp has a limit on the number of test emails one can send. Unfortunately, I hit that limit as I was trying various RSS tags for the subject title and preview text. I think I tried the one you mentioned but I am not 100% sure. I will set up a new campaign, try it again and let you know. Thanks for your help!

Nope, no video or audio in an email because most email clients block it. The best you can do is an animated gif in an email. They don't have sound, but they are mult images that loop to create a short video. I hope that helps and thanks for watching!

Hi Nikhil, The difference is how they're sent. The automated emails I show in this tutorial are sent out automatically after you publish a post. You could go into MailChimp and manually create the same email every time you publish a post. The person receiving the email can't tell the difference. It's including the WHOLE lengthy blog post which is making the e-mail REEEEEEEEEEEEAAALLY long.... I'd prefer it just be maybe ONE image and a paragraph. I actually put page breaks in my blog posts so that more posts show on my home page without having to get carpal tunnel scrolling (image heavy)... I searched high and low for some of the RSS tags to truncate the posts but that's apparently above my pay grade. :)

It really depends on what type of site you're trying to build. Avada is awesome because it's very flexible, comes with a bunch of demo site layouts and has their one Fusion page builder. It's the #1 theme on themeforest for a reason. I've never used Newspaper, so I can't say much about that one. My go-to theme right now is Divi because of a bunch of reason. One being the divi builder with a slick front-end editor to make creating and customizing pages really easy. If you don't want Divi or can't afford it right now I would recommend getting any theme that is close to what you want and creating all the pages using either the WPBakery Page Builder or the Elementor Page Builder. It doesn't say it, but it shows me publishing a post and the email being recieved right after. As soon as your RSS gets a new entry MailChimp is notified and the email is sent as soon as possible, which usually within one minute.

Hi Gloria, the word 'test' is either in your template or MailChimp is adding it in because it knows you're testing and it wouldn't appear on a true send. Those are the only two reasons I can think of.
