Canceled sub because of thumbnail picture.

Because you don’t understand it’s making fun of the overuse of over-dramatic expressions in video thumbnails that don’t warrant it, or because you do and didn’t find it funny? Should I have added a few red arrows pointing at things to make it even more obvious maybe? 😂

Switch & Lever how is it “making fun of it”? You’re just DOING IT. There’s no “joke here” - you’re literally “using an over-dramatic expression in a video that doesn’t warrant it” with no indication what-so-ever that it’s “poking fun”. 🙄 Any time ANY video pops up with this kind of thumbnail is auto-unsubbed.

The Hitachi two stage switch I *think* is an operators safe to fire xray dead man's handle - I'm a radiotherapy engineer and we have similar old kit in our store for an old diagnostic kV xray unit
@sparkyprojects
@sparkyprojects 4 жыл бұрын
The selectors are the older version that we called 'wafer switches', you could make switches with a lot of wafers as a hobbyist. That Hitachi button is probably from an X ray machine, where the radiologist runs and hides behind a lead screen and exposes you to the harmmful rays :D Closest thing to a lever would by my collection of knife switches, the type you see in Frankenstein movies

Not to guarantee anything, but as a Professional Tattooist myself, anytime I see a "generic looking" footswitch wired with a 1/4" phono plug, I automatically think possible tattoo equipment. I'm sure the same design was likely used on a great deal of industrial applications as well, though!

The two stage switch is a "dead man" switch. The are used as a safety device on a lot of equipment.
@SwitchAndLever
@SwitchAndLever 5 жыл бұрын
But dead mans switches are something you need to hold down or the operation of the machinery stops. Literally if you drop dead the machine stops. It doesn’t need to be two stage, and usually they’re not that unergonomic. From what I heard now it is a shutter button for an X-ray machine, which does make a lot of sense.
4 жыл бұрын
@@SwitchAndLever well, not necessarily. I've seen 2 stage dead man switches so you can't lock it in bottom. It needs a human touch to make it work more or less. The Ekra screen printer at my old workplace had one of those 2 stage switches for manual operation only so you couldn't put your hands close to the moving parts. And if you pressed it to hard it went into EMG stop.

I’d say he broke down and old mini-computer from the 60s/70s it got hold of some parts from an old mainframe. Those key caps look like they are from an old phosphor green or amber VDU terminal. The G key caption ‘bel’ is short for ‘bell’ and when you did ctrl-G you would get a beep. The rotary selectors remind me of those on an IBM 3650 Point of Sale controllers from the 70s. You had to flick round to a series of hex digits and flick an enter switch each time, then execute switch, to make it do what was required. Probably not them but something like them.

just my opinion: you should buy a new camera that can shoot at 1080 ah?
@SwitchAndLever
@SwitchAndLever 4 жыл бұрын
Just my facts: My camera shoots 1080p just fine, heck some of the cameras I use even shoot 4k. I make the deliberate decision to downsample it to 720p. Not everything needs to be super high quality, and with an increasing amount of people watching on mobile, on small screens, the jump from 720p to 1080p is pretty much negligible. 49.1% of my viewers view on mobile, 58.4% if you include tablets.
