This is the Main Cathedral of the Russian Armed Forces on the outskirts of Moscow. Completed in May 2020 and opened in June the same year. Dedicated to the 75th anniversary of victory in the Great Patriotic War, as well as the military feats of the Russian people in all wars. The cathedral is viewed as controversial for some, with the Soviet imagery alongside religious icons. What do you think?

В 960 году родился святой равноапостольный великий князь Владимир, в честь которого освящен нижний храм. Диаметр барабана главного купола составляет 19 метров 45 сантиметров. На барабане 8 окон. Диаметр купола составляет 22 метра 43 сантиметра. 8 мая 1945 года в 22 часа 43 минуты был подписан акт о безоговорочной капитуляции Германии. Высота малых куполов 14 метров 18 сантиметров - 1418 дней и ночей продолжалась война 1941-1945 годов. Высота звонницы - 75 метров, ровно столько лет прошло со Дня Победы. Площадь мозаик в интерьере составляет 2644 квадратных метра, что соответствует числу полных кавалеров ордена Славы. Высота мандорлы - 11694 сантиметра, именно столько участников Великой Отечественной войны получили звание Героя Советского Союза. Для чугунных плит крыльца храма был использован сплав, в состав которого входил металл из переплавленного оружия Вермахта. Главной иконой храма является «Спас Нерукотворный», при создании которой использовались старинные технологии: паволока, левкас, яичная темпера, сусальное золото, полудрагоценные и драгоценные камни. С тыльной стороны доски скреплены между собой цевьем автоматической винтовки Токарева образца 1940 года. Икона является произведением искусства, над которым работали ювелиры, металлурги и художники.

J'ai visité cette église à plusieurs reprises et c'est chaque fois un émerveillement. Il faut la voir en vrai car, une vidéo, aussi réussie soit-elle, ne peut rendre parfaitement la beauté de cet édifice. Le lieu est très reposant car il est en pleine campagne (assez loin de Moscou). Il y a également un petit musée (très intéressant à visiter) Les mosaïques sont superbes et l'immense crypte (avec baptistère) est à couper le souffle. Bref, un site exceptionnel qu'il faut absolument visiter lorsqu'on séjourne dans ce magnifique pays qu'est la Russie.

You still have to go to St. Petersburg. The main cathedral of the Russian Navy, the Cathedral of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, is located there. There are many temples and cathedrals in Russia dedicated to victories in wars. Russians do this not only in memory of the soldiers, but also as a sign of gratitude to God and all the Orthodox saints.

На самом деле большинство граждан страны прекрасно знают о Соборе и многие были и продолжают приезжать, по ому что здесь не только Собор, но и знаменитый военный музей под открытым небом, а при строительстве Собора был возведен и не менее потрясающий музейный комплекс "Дорога памяти". Зайдя туда ты буквально попадаешь в день до начала войны и проходишь все более чем тысяча дней войны до дня Победы.

Я лично посетила этот комплекс зимой 2024!!! Холодно было правда… но это того стоит!!! Красотища, мощь , сила , восторг и гордость за наш народ и нашу страну!!!! Спасибо за создание в память погибших солдат, защитников и граждан СССР!!!!!!!! Мозаика пано переливается золотом и серебром, песнопение хора, свечи ставят люди .. а музей это что то!!!!! Грандиозное, впечатляющее строение!!!!!!!!!
