When Dan Satch and Warrior split, Warrior's career and music went into stratosphere, without these other guys because, there were players of instrument everywhere at his service. Warrior was a vocalist, so it's understandable he'll be far more popular. Music is far more than that. What many of you don't know is that because Warrior was the vocalist, many albums Dan Satch released afterwards were ascribed to warrior. And for Mbaise, all of them that I had a dealing with ended up betraying me and my family. I'm not saying all of them are bad, but all that I met have ended up betrayals. Period!!

In law school, I was taught that every story has two sides. This is why it is important to document history for posterity sake. But this is good. although Warrior is not here to dispute Dan Satch's side of the story. But it is important that he spoke and stopped restraining himself from speaking. Hopefully some of the actors, especially their band members are still alive to tell us what they know. Unfortunately, Godwin Iheanacho (Black Power) died a while ago to refute the allegation against him. However, despite their reconciliation in 1989 by Chief Okoli, it seems that Dan Satch is still bitter. I can understand that bitterness because of the negative impact the split from Warrior had on his career from then on, whilst Warrior became an international successful solo artist.

The funny thing about this story was when they split, and I saw Warrior playing in Port Harcourt 6 months later, he was playing with a spanking brand new instrument and that also reflected in the sound of his music as a solo artist compared with the original band's sound. The rumour then was that Warrior got the band's tour Bus and Dan Satch got the instruments.

It's so unfortunate that almost 44 years after Warrior parted ways with Satch, Satch is still bitter, even as Sir Warrior passed away some 24 years ago. Most annoying is that Satch seems happy Sir Warrior and most the band members are no more. Satch talks as if the long life he has attained is by his power rather the grace of God. Ferdinand Chukwemeka Dan Satch Opara founded Oriental Brothers Brothers band and was the de facto leader. No one disputes that with him. However the star of the group, the chief composer and singer was Sir Warrior (Christogonus Ezewuiro Obinna). It's unfortunate that Satch who couldn't utter a word while Warrior was alive is now talking down on Sir Warrior, trying hard to discredit him and even taking credit for Sir Warrior's compositions. It's really so unfortunate. Satch never told the world why 6 out of 8 band men decided to follow Sir Warrior and not him. Satch didn't mention why flopped as a musician after Warrior left him. It's simple: he was living large, off another man's talent. Black Power knew who made the music that's why he supported Sir Warrior instead of Satch. I was a teenager in the mid 70s to the early 80s, the hey days of the Orientals. I was privileged to have attended their shows twice in my late teenage days. We had all their albums in our house and I can confidently say it anyday that Warrior composed most of their songs because the acknowledgements were always on each of the albums. I knew that Dan Satch's days with Warrior were numbered the moment Sir Warrior single handedly composed hit albums like Nwanne Awu Enyi and Obi Nwanne. It's unfortunate that Dan Satch is even subtly trying to claim credit for "Amaghim onye wu Onye" song here. That song was also composed and sang by Sir Warrior. Dan Satch's claim about it in the interview here is a lie. Anyone who can find the LP should check it. For putting the group together immediately after the war, Dan Satch deserves credit. However he cannot ride on lies, hate and bitterness to earn that credit. At his age, he should uphold the truth and make peace with God. Akwila is just nodding his head because he has always been a Dan Satch lackey from day one. When Akwila left Orientals with Ichita and they both flopped, Akwila quickly ran back to Satch to find succour and they've been together ever since. 🙌🙌

All that the other band members (including Satch) did was play instruments and back up in vocals on choruses. Those videos made by Satch after Warrior's death give a false impression that Satch also sang lead vocals for the Orientals while he was with Warrior.

You are absolutely right especially on the issue of composition of their songs after Kabaka left. I met Warrior in London in 1986 (I was a student) and he was recording the album Anyinyiriodo -Warrior in London in a recording studio in Fulham, West London. I and another Igbo guy from Agulu went to see him and were shocked, at how down-to-earth he was back then with us. The last straw was the album Obi Nwanne which included the track - Ebele Onye Uwa was written by Warrior and that was their last album together. Many people that know, said that they warned Dan Satch that, if he doesn't change his stance about how to share the band royalty, that Warrior will eventually go solo. Just like Chris Blackwell did with Bob Marley in the Wailers band, Goddy Iheanacho (Black Power Organisation) was instrumental in persuading Warrior to go solo. Dan Satch never forgave the guy even in death. Dan Satch has a history of being very confrontational with other musicians, including Chief Osita Osadebe, whom he physically fought over a venue booking in Aba (Roxy Hotel). Chief Osabebe even sang it in a track called "Obi Enwe Igodo - Olu kanyi Na Alu". Osadebe accused Dan Satch of bribing the hotel staff at Roxy Hotel and overbooked the venue he paid to play and the situation escalated to a bloody fight. You missed the point --- Dan Satch is not saying why Warrior took that action, he is playing the victim while he was the victimizer of so many musicians. I am fan of the Oriental Brothers, including that of Dan Satch and Warrior especially, but Satch is not telling the entire truth. In the "Ima Onye wu onye" song that he lied here to have written (Warrior wrote and sang the entire album in 1978), Warrior warned him severally as follows: "Nwanyim kpama agwa ọjọ, m'agbara ya ọsọ", "Dan Satch le, omegbu ibe ya, ahu enwegi ike idi ya mma", etc. Don't get me wrong, I love Dan Satch, he is an excellent musician but he has some wuru-wuru trait over money due to his musicians. The musicians who have stuck with him are the ones who don't believe that they can do better elsewhere -- every confident musician that encountered him eventually quit him; even Akwila quit him in the 1970s but returned after he almost died of hunger and alcoholism when he and Ichita couldn't make it on their own as musicians. Folks just want the whole truth, not the slanted stories he frequently tells.

In one of his songs, Warrior talks in idiom that "they have taken away the beauty accessories from the lady". Warrior was the beauty accessories and Dan Satch was the lady. Oriental Brothers as a band ended when Warrior went solo. Dan Satch is a guitarist and there are thousands of guitarist but there are few people that can sing, let alone sing like Warrior. Despite the years that have passed, Dan Satch is still bitter that Warrior left him to be independent and the phenomenon success Warrior achieved as a solo artist with hits after hits.
