Main Street Electrical Parade November 1996

This is me at Disneyland in November 1996. The Main Street Electrical Parade was on it's farewell performance so Disneyland could make way for Light Magic which started in 1997. Sadly it was an epic fail and people BEGGED Disneyland to bring the parade back. Disney Parks decided o bring it back in 2002 and put it in the California Adventure Park. It stayed there for a while then went to Walt Disney World in Florida for a few years. Today it's BACK in Disneyland!!!!

This was the real parade! The music, all the floats, the crowd, etc. I'm glad I get to see it one more time now but it's not the same parade as when I saw it as a kid with missing floats and the updated soundtrack. I thank you for the video so I and others can relieve the magic ❤️

DCA's version from 2001 until 2009 used the original music as well. The only thing that is not there that is here is the small world.

fun fact: the 2 2-ring circus floats dated all the way backto '75 as floatts in "America On Parade" they joined MSEP in 1985.

I have herd somewhere on KZbin that this parade is coming back to Disneyworld next year does anyone know if that is true or not? I have seen this parade at Disneyworld when I was very young back in 1984 and again in 1991 at Disneyworld and again in 99-2000 at Disneyworld and my finale time in the summer of 2013.at Disneyworld. I hope that this parade does not retrie anytime soon I want to see it in person again but saidly I will not get to see at Disneyland. I am hoping that it says at Disneyland longer so if I go to Disneyland anytime soon that I get to see this parade again but at its home at Disneyland.

the parade came back to CA in 2001, and it ran at DCA from July 3, 2001 till April 18, 2010.

Yea I could not remember when it left DCA. I'm glad it's back at Disneyland

princeofsin1 yeah me too, I'm originally from CA, and I'll be visiting SoCal in June and seeing this is on my bucket list, since it's closing date has been extended to august 20 by popular demand.☺☺☺

princeofsin1 I've been reading a lot of updates lately, and I think after august 20, 2017 the parade will be retiring for good this time. On the 17 of June the parade turns 45. I've always loved this parade for almost 30 years.

I totally understand the excitement. I grew up going to Disney World any chance we got. It's catcalling the princesses and female cast members that I found a little much.
