It astonished me, when we were back in WDW this past April, how as soon as I heard this song a whole element of my childhood opened up in front of me and it almost brought me to tears. My daughter and I were on splash mountain, and after the big hill toward the end of the ride, we came out through the u turn and were right in the middle of the parade. First time I had heard the song since '84. We were laughing from the rush of the ride and from the thrill of being right there inundated with the lights and sounds of the MSEP, Disney never fails to amaze me.

In the early 1980s I worked at the Crystal Palace at Walt Disney World on Main Street and would love listening to the MSEP music and watching the lights flicker through the trees as the parade passed twice nightly. Best part of my childhood visits to Disneyland and even now, 60 years later. Whenever they bring it back, I'm there.

1973 Summer vacation from Denver to Disneyland in the old VW bus. Stayed at the old Heidi Motel on Katella and just walked through the back gate and across the parking lot to Disneyland. Stayed til closing every night to see the Main Street Electric Parade. Bought the 45 and still remember how enchanting and magical those days with my family were. I'm 63 now, but hearing this makes me feel like that little boy again.

Pure nostalgia whenever I watch an old video or listen to the soundtrack. I used to go to Disneyland every summer when I was a kid and adored this parade and I remember when they took it out. I was so confused and sad that it was gone. So glad that my dad got pictures of it though.

i never watch parades. but this one time, we were trippin balls and couldnt really hang with lines so we watched this and the first float was a hookah smoking catepillar sitting on a mushroom and with that music and everything that followed. Hells yeah- fan for LIFE!

+Hollis Nicholas how about you stop getting butthurt over a parade? Disney owns the parade and will do whatever the hell it wants to with it.
@agirlandherglock88168 жыл бұрын
+Hollis Nicholas they are returning the parade to you all for a few months later this year. Then they are retiring it forever. However, I still think you are childish for getting angry over a parade.

I was 2 when my parents first took me to see the old Electrical Parade. It became my favorite thing of our many trips to Disneyland when we lived in nearby Long Beach. A guy from our church was part of the sound team, and made me a cassette tape of this entire track. Needless to say, I played it All the time 😂❤

My grandma used to have this on VHS (now I have it) and there's just so many feels when you hear this song. You could listen to this song on repeat and still get feels. My sister and I used to watch it everytime we went to my grandma's house. I can name when every character shows up. Omg I'm legit about to cry. 😢😢❤❤

Happiest song on the damn planet. Loved this parade as a kid.

I remember that as a kid we had a vinyl/cassette box set of classic Disney songs, and this one always amazed me and weirded me out. Hearing this over 10 years later, it brings back so much nostalgia. It's incredible to hear all the synthesizers now that making synth sounds is second nature; strangely the magic isn't gone, but enhanced even more!

Back in 1990, sadly, my wife divorced me. I told my two children, then aged two and four that one day I would take them to Disneyland Paris. Three years later, after driving to Paris from England, after spending a day in Paris itself and after camping at a campsite near to Disneyland, my fantastic children, Rebecca and Joshua, unaware of where they were, got into the back seats of the car and together we drove along the motorway and onto the lovely drive to the Disneyland entrance. The look on their faces when they saw where they were will stay with me forever. If there is one parade that brings the tears to my eyes, raises the goosebumps and whells me up with the memories of the wonderful day we had there then it is this!

The last time I went to Disney land was in 2004 or 2006 and the song still hasn't changed. You go Disney for keeping the classical music alive.

I remember the 1st time I saw the parade.. It was like nothing else I'd ever seen! The way my body tingled. The boosegumps. The way the bass made my insides rattle when the synthesized voice talks in the beginning! You could hear in 360º! The sights, the sounds, the laughter and excitement. It was awesome!

Every year going way back to the age of two my parent's and my brother and i would go with my aunt and uncle and their two kids to a gas company night private party, Unfortunately they did not run parades in the off season or for private parties so i did not see the electrical parade until about 1980 going on a regular summer day, that parade like everything at Disneyland back then was so magical ... the old ways and traditions that walt established and his attention to details about everything in the park helped to create that special magic and gave the whole park a special feeling, not only did i love this parade and the park but the iceing on the cake was getting to work there from 1990 untill 1998 ... in 1998 they departed from many of walts standards and traditions and that demanding attention to detail that walt insisted on and have since destroyed lots of that magic that was unique to Disneyland .. i have been back since 1998 a total of three times and it is sad to see what has become of Walts park

Fun Fact: This song was sampled by Joe Hawley's song "Joe Hawley Attacks". Another song sampled for that song was the Tally Hall short "Joe Hawley Attack".

This is literally the song that can make anything fun. I could play this while folding laundry or studying for a math test and it will instantly make me bounce in place and hum to myself while I do something that would normally be a chore:)
