It's ridiculous how one major voice crack incident (which happens to even the best singers) was enough to make lots of people decide that he's not a good singer. Everyone has bad days. I can't understand how people ignore how good he sounds usually when singing. I think Heechul is one of the better kpop singers, definetly above average. And most importantly, his *tone*. Heenim's tone is one of the most memorable and unique I know in the industry. I honestly think a memorable tone is even more important, than being a singer with superb technique and range. Singing tone is the thing people remember and become attracted to in a world where there are thousand of good singers. Thankfully lot's of people have begun to acknowledge his vocals in the resent years.

I guess he was not chosen to be one of the main vocalists of suju because his voice is very rock-ballad, and a bit tricky to stylize into pop songs. His transition from chest register to falsetto/head voice is unstable at times. That is why as a fan I would like to see more solo singles from him that really highlight and showcase his rock-ballad color of voice.
