I booked it :) might as well not a big financial risk on my Regal Unlimited. Ok my guess its their touch of humanity that does the dumb stuff.. :)

That's fair. I know I saw a ton of stuff back in the old days of MoviePass just because I could. 31 movies for $9.99 certainly made me a lot less picky 😆

Given my longstanding interest in the subject of Sasquatch, I just watched the film tonight. Not quite sure how I feel about it yet, other than that the slice-of-life story was quite odd in most ways, humorous in several ways, and touching in even fewer, yet was well-shot and presented a wonderful snapshot of northern Californian flora and fauna. I’ll post back if I have anything else useful to post after I sleep on it 😅 P.S., a slice of life film on an of the major lake serpents would be pretty fun, or a take on the life of Mokele Mbembe. 😊

You basically summed up my thoughts on it too. Weird, somewhat funny, with some minor deeper themes that threaten to peak through at times. Ooh, nice picks!

Since the recorded sightings of these ‘neighbours’ is on the short side and there’s so much negative press about the reality of this, a full feature about brief sightings might not do the subject justice. I mean if according to the critics it’s a human invention then what’s wrong with filling it with how humans actually fill their days. Sometimes the truth is painful.
@MainelyMovies6 ай бұрын
Huh? This film isn't about brief sightings. It fully focuses on a family of sasquatch.

Interesting review on what looks to be an interesting film. I have been called a sasquatch myself a lot since high school. It might be interesting to see how my relatives live.

A good idea ruined with attempted "gross out comedy" bs. So much bodily fluids, you can tell they used it as filler because they couldn't think of a plot or literally anything else to do It seems like a couple stoners said "a Bigfoot documentary would be cool" and started filming the next day with no preparation or writing. Bad writing all around. It's Bigfoot jackass.

It was disgusting and lost the plot from the start. Tge sasquatches are obviously acting like modern day humans. Where sex and drugs are the highlight of life. And the raising of the family is just the burden of a single mother. Every time the film had a chance to do something funny or fun. They delivered the punch line in such a grotesque way that the only thing you felt is disgust and disappointment. The only highlight of the film were the epic shots with the wildlife. Stunning and beutiful. But the rest was garbage.

Sorry to hear you didn't enjoy this slice-of-life nature documentary. As a biologist, I feel obligated to note that the driving force behind the lives of individuals of most species is reproduction. This is the result of a concept that we call "fitness" in biology - a measure of an individual's ability to pass on their genetic material to future generations. The fact that these (admittedly fictional) cryptid animals frequently mate or attempt to mate doesn't mean they're acting like modern-day humans... it simply means they're acting like animals. Similarly, the drug scenes are the result of happenstance foraging, as is the case with most animals that ingest hallucinogenic or fermented foods.
