Thanks for the keel guard link! And loved the idea of the holes for storing hooks. I use a universal fishfinder base plate on a pivoting ram mount. Holes are fine for jigs, but a bit large for treble hooks. Also that PVC pipe in the crate for the anchor was a great idea, I can't believe I didn't think of that myself!

I finally received the 2017 PDL I told you about last month (thank you for the sticker advice). Now I'm adding all my accessories that I need, for both DEEP BLUE ocean fishing as well as shallow fresh water fishing. Off the coast of Florida, Louisiana, S Carolina, and N Carolina I go saltwater fishing for Kingfish, Tuna, Mahi/Dolphin, and Lobster diving...sometimes 300-400+ feet deep...especially the reefs & wrecks of Key West and Islamorada. When I go freshwater fishing in the Florida Everglades, Louisiana Bayous, or Lake Grenada Mississippi I mainly go for Bass and/or Crappie (Speckled Perch). I have chosen to put on a Helix5 (w/ CHIRP DI, SI, GPS, and Sonar), Yak Attack HD anchor trolley system (w/ quick release Float/Buoy) for unhooking during BIG Tuna or Tarpon 'sleigh rides' :-D Since I also fish a lot during night, I have put several Bluewater LEDs on too (2-8inch navigation red/green on front bow, 2- 40inch white on each outside edge in middle (for netting area or attracting bait near kayak), 4-8inch red for night vision inside the cockpit and tank-well during the night. 3 waterproof switches for inside, outside, and navigation. I use a 12v/10amp battery for LEDs and 12v/8amp battery from Cabelas to run the Helix5. The PDL hands free really helps to hold onto rod when fighting the fish and/or fighting current. INSTANT forward/reverse with feet like a bicycle.

I am considering buying a kayak, and since I just took up fly fishing, this video has just cemented my decision to buy one! I am going to check out all your other vids! Keep up the great work!

Nice video and great setup. Love the retractable and zinger systems. That kart seems to works well with your kayak. On my kayak it keeps falling off even if strapped tight. Ended up building a scupper hole kart out ppr piping . I still use the aluminum kart (inverted) to roll the kayak unto the roof of my van.

well laid out, nice work. I almost bought that kayak...it's a great boat. I ended up going with the Jackson Big Rig, I was nervous about stability and the Big Rig was a bit wider...both nice boats though. well done on the rigging.

I dont think I saw a link for the bag attached to the back of your seat, it looks great btw. I just wanted to add that there's alot of cheap bags that go on the back of car seats that can be used for bait/tools. For me this is better because it'll only add weight to the kayak seat instead of the kayak itself. Edit: do you know of a way to make the clothesline anchor trolley detachable? (In case you were about to be hit by a boat, wave, etc.)??
@mainetroutwhisperer4 жыл бұрын
Zach Wilson that comes on the predator. It’s built on the seat

I recently found/watched your video and catching up more with auto-play. I also 'liked' and just 'subscribed' too. QUESTION: I am getting newer Predator PDL and interested in adding stickers like you did all around the kayak. I am concerned if they won't stay put or start peeling off? How did you prepare the surface? Is there any advice or suggestions to make them stay better/longer?
@mainetroutwhisperer7 жыл бұрын
Hummer4u2nv they will stick just fine. You won't have issues u less you put them in an area that gets a lot of wear like rubbing on your vehicle or anchor trolley. The stickers I have are good quality and I don't have any issues.

Do you recommend Side imaging or Down imaging for a fishing kayak? I'm looking at the Helix 7 but not sure whether to buy the DI or the SI
@mainetroutwhisperer7 жыл бұрын
kyle melanson I believe the si has both correct? I really haven't used it much but I like both features. I think the side imaging may be more desirable. I can pick out submersed logs, rocks, cover that I paddle past that I would otherwise miss
@hummer4u2nv117 жыл бұрын
...I forgot to ask do you have any issues with the KeelEasy...I'm looking at the same but concerned it may peel off with 90-100 degree heat days in Florida, Louisiana, Texas...(?)
@mainetroutwhisperer7 жыл бұрын
Hummer4u2nv it won't peel off brother. Stuff is rugged!
@hummer4u2nv117 жыл бұрын
I've heard nothing but all good things about it, I know the actual product is rugged, but my worry was about the 'adhesive' becoming soft in the heat of FL,TX, LA. Those States we have 90-100 degree days and thought it may peel of if the adhesive becomes soft from hot weather(?)
@mainetroutwhisperer7 жыл бұрын
Hummer4u2nv we don't get as hot here but I think this stuff, once it's on... it's on. It's very adhesive. Get it on there good with a heat gun and make sure it's all stuck with no wrinkles or folds.

How did you replace the line on the clothes line. It looks like I would destroy it taking it apart.
@mainetroutwhisperer7 жыл бұрын
Edward George very simple. I will have to make a video on this as I've had a bunch of questions. Pull all the line off, cut it and tie it onto paracord and wind it back in. I'll make a video soon.
@kmelanson77 жыл бұрын
How did you switch the clothes line to 550 cord? Did you open the case? If so how? Or did you cut the clothes line and fuse it with the 550 somehow?
@mainetroutwhisperer7 жыл бұрын
kyle melanson it's very easy. Pull out all of the line inside the case and then when you get to the end put vise grips or something on the line so it won't go back in. Cut the line and tie on the paracord right to the end of the clothes line. Release the vids grip and it will spool up. Then just cut the paracord accordingly

Wow! How is Main Trout Whisperer a dick, lol?!? I think he answered you very nicely! He gives you a link. One click and you're there. I guess you would rather he answered "Amazon" and then you would go to the Amazon app, type in "long milk crate," then scroll down through all of the results to find the one you want and you still wouldn't know what one he used. So then you'd be on here asking another question about this. If that's the approach you want to take, I'll amswer the question for him. "Amazon."
