You know...it took me several viewings to get it. It's technically great, but my first reaction was that it mauled over one of my favorite musical portions of the orginal song--the ending refrain (kzbin.info/www/bejne/gaGaloaLip6ir5o ). I love how it builds and adds layers to what is honestly a pretty simple melody. After a few listens, I can enjoy how the solo here takes us on a trip, but eventually comes back to a familiar place. He takes it another step further, though, by going up an octave or so to really put a personal touch on it.

Something about the part at 5:30, along with the buildup of the bass and guitar to this point, is absolutely pristine. It speaks to me.
@IgorCostaMusic2 жыл бұрын
Its effect comes mostly due to the sudden switch from the minor to the major scale. Notice that none of the instruments change chords, but the guitar introduces the major 3rd note (with is the note that characterizes the major scale). This sudden change creates that great ambience that you (and me also) felt.

The last day of school the teacher knew I was all about music (usually metal). Wrote this down on a piece of paper and multiple other songs. Not metal but goodddd damnnnnnnn. I can't. This is just too good. And that solo. So much raw emotionnn. I just can't man. Thank you Mr. Heath (thanks to my friends I think of the Heath bar smh😂🤷🏽♂️)

Not gonna lie, I clicked because I thought it was Blake from Worcaholics on the guitar. After listening though... Boy is that one tasty cover of an already awesome song. Great work!

As an aficionado guitar player I have to say that this is one of the best solos I've ever heard. The guy has an insane phrasing, very very tasty! Always a pleasure to listen the solo over and over. :)

I like that they changed the lyrics just enough that I can sing along. And damn, that solo is amazing! Max Newman is a genius of a guitar player.
