Thank so much for this helpful video! Quick question, our keyboardist likes to split her keys too, the right side using a piano and pad patch and the left side only an octive of a bass. Our main issue is when she pressing the octave button of her midi to move the piano and pad, the bass also automatically moves. Is there a way to position the bass to maintain the same octive while she changes the piano and pad octaves?

For other rookies like me who can't see the 'Instrument Channel Strip Inspector' underneath the Workspace (even after resizing the bottom of the window to show more), I just figured it out: with an instrument channel strip selected (on the right), click the Toggle Inspectors button at the top left of the window, and, voila, there is your Instrument Channel Strip Inspector, just like in this video. I'm guessing the video maker would have mentioned Toggle Inspector had it occurred to him, given this is a beginner-level video.

Why are the piano controls (above) in grey and not accessible? how do you balance the levels of both patches? how do you tweak the controls for each patch?? how do you switch back and forth between the controls above for each patch!? NOT the mixer on the left. Thanks

This tutorial needs to explain also how to transpose to higher/lower octaves.

A quick looksy around and I figured it out. Click the Channel Strip you want to change, click on the MIDI input tab (next to the Layer Editor tab) and transpose to your heart's desire.

Thanks for the tutorial! How many splits can you do? For example, can you split your midi controller into 6 different regions of keys, each with a different patch?

That's a very good question. I've actually only split the controller into two sections, but I am guessing you can do a lot more than that and get really creative. Let us know if you end up trying this out.

Hey! I've got a question. Does splitting the keyboard work only in this "plug-in"? I would like to throw on the keyboard half the keys from the DX7 plug and the other half from some other one. Is it possible? Greetings!
