Seems I have 2 keyboards in my setup according to the mapping section, but I only see 1 keyboard in the set up section. Where do I go to remove this second keyboard ? I believe it’s causing issues with the sustain pedal being backwards and I’ve tried the invert option but it sometimes or never works. Each time I add a new patch the sustain pedal works backwards again !

Thanks for the tutorial. It worked. However, when I play one of the keyboards, it erases all of the channels. Any clue on why it does this?

Hmmm... check the mappings and assignments area and press the keys again to see if your keys are assigned to some other undesired function. Sounds like a tricky one. I’ve never seen that before. Good luck!

When I connect two keyboards, they’re 1/2 step off/transpose. Is that a common problem? How can I fix it!!!

Trace each keyboard from the source through mainstage layout page. A few things to check: 1- Make sure the keyboard controllers are both not transposed (you've likely already checked this) 2- On the input Layout tab, where you assign the controllers, make sure nothing is transposed there. 3- On the tracks/channels/plugins make sure nothing is transposed there. Those are the things I would check. Hope this helps!

I need help building a midi template for 2 different keyboard controllers, to control a different palette of sounds, accessible by each controller’s midi output channel. So, 16 different Patches for each keyboard. Is this possible?

Assign your keyboards as shown in this video. Then start with one patch. In that patch create a separate channel for each sound you want to play at the same time (one sound per channel). Then for each channel set the midi input to the keyboard you want to use for controlling that channel, as well as the midi channel you want for the input. Then you should have one patch, controlled by multiple keyboards, with each sound channel controlled by a specific MIDI channel. These steps are all from memory, but if I was going to try what you describe, that’s how I would start. Hope this helps some!

Hi - the number of channels (instruments) you can add in one patch is only limited by the capabilities of your computer. If your computer can generate sounds for the instruments without getting too slow, it should work fine. Best wishes to you!

Request for setting up one keyboard and one roli seaboard 49

Ah I don't have a Roli to try it out - but the principles shown in this video should still apply. Just make sure you select the Roli MIDI input as the second keyboard. You should also be able to use the MIDI input monitor to see they types of messages being sent by the Roli to help guide your mapping decisions. Hope this helps!

Each keyboard will need to be connected to your computer using either a USB cable (if the keyboard supports USB MIDI) or a standard MIDI cable. Check the doc for your particular keyboard to advise on connection options. You won’t need a printer cable for this connection, though. Hope you get it working!
