Loved this vid! Would you also be willing to make another video on how you created this piano from the stock sounds?

Thanks Josh, helpful! Can you post a video on sources that you found helpful? do you read through logic manuals or where did you get the approach of these things from? Best greetings, Joel

Hey man, love your stuff. Somewhat unrelated question - do you ever use Mainstage piano sounds? They're pretty cheesy, but I'm wondering if there's a way to mod them enough to make em sound decent. Your piano tones are great, but I'm guessing you're using other plug-ins?

Thanks for the tutorial and for the script. Is there a way to prevent the sustain pedal toggling the sustain off/on when the scripted is running?

Duncan Hazlewood I'd like to know as well!

Sorry for the late response guys! You should be able to resolve that issue as long as you mapped your drone keyboard to channel 1 and make sure your main keyboard is mapped to channel 2, using this method. Make sure none of your keyboards (even musical typing if your using it) is mapped to channel 1-16. If you're still having issues even after this, you could look into mapping your pedal exactly where you want it. In edit mode (upper left corner), click on the icon for your sustain and below in the screen control inspector, click on the patch you want it to apply to, then click on MIDI controller, then click on 64 (sustain). Let me know if it still doesn't work after that!

Hi josh Is it key specific or we can pre program the key it's is played in. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. God bless
@JoshLeakeMusic2 жыл бұрын
Hi! The way that I set it up in this video is that you use your computer's keyboard to play notes in whatever key you want. Usually, I do the 1 and the 5 of whatever key I'm going to play in. Does that answer the question?

So how do you change the pad chord for different songs if the bypass button just turns off and on the script?
@JoshLeakeMusic6 жыл бұрын
Hey! I usually assign a button on my Korg Nanokontrol to bypass. In between songs, I'll hit bypass so it unlatches and then hit it again so it's ready, then hit the new chord. There's a good amount of fade time on the pad for you to change chords in between songs once you unlatch the pad.

Is there any benefit from using this script over just mapping the button to send midi sustain to the musical typing midi input?
@JoshLeakeMusic5 жыл бұрын
Nope! It's pretty much the same thing, the scripter was just the way that I used but they accomplish the same thing.

God bless you, bro. I did all of this videos but when I use the sustain pedal to play with the drone pad, it cuts. Why?
@JoshLeakeMusic4 жыл бұрын
That's probably because the midi channels aren't set properly. You'll want to make sure that whatever keyboard you want to play your piano on (I use midi channel 2) is using a separate from the drone keyboard (which if you're using musical typing is midi channel 1). If those channels aren't separate, the sustain pedal will probably affect things you don't want it to. You can make sure those are assigned correctly in the layout page.
