MainStreet - "Arthur Hatfield & Hatfield Banjos"

Arthur Hatfield is no stranger to the banjo and it's music. He started making banjos about 30 years ago, but it wasn't until 2001 that he began making the instruments in earnest. Now he has several models, and some pretty impressive customers as well.

Back in the 70s I got to do some pickin with Arthur and he is a fantastic musician. If he can pick it up he can play it! And one heckuva nice guy! Arthur Hatfield banjos sound and look fantastic.

When I was a boy Author lived in my house. I loved this man more than I can express ! Will never forget him. Smoke a pipe to this day because he did at the time and I idolized him.

Arthur Made a great neck for my TB 11 1936 and a great job on the conversion and set up.plus he and his wife are super nice people.

Gibson TB11 Your 11 in the picture has more red in the flower than I'm used to seeing. Very nice banjo. I just recently acquired a deep blue MB-11 I'm converting into a 5 string. Banjophiles says mine is a 36, but the parts say it's in the 40's. lol

@warh0rn Arthur Hatfield banjos are of very high quality, professional in craftsmanship & very affordable. He's always ready to work with the customer. I hope you find a banjo that makes you happy!!!!!!! Arthur is one of the very few I'd trust to work on my prewar Gibson.

The Buck Creek that Arthur sent me in 2024 had such poor intonation that I had to send it back. I tried to adjust the bridge but nothing worked. He refused to work with me. Arthur was mean and refused to let me return the banjo for a different banjo with correct intonation. I don't recommend Hatfield to anyone. Arthur is not the nice man that I thought he was. I lost hundreds of dollars because of Arthur, but he lost nothing. He wasted my time and deeply hurt me as a mistreated customer. I regret buying a Hatfield banjo!

Arthur is a fine builder and craftsman and a great friend to everyone in the banjo community Sounds like user error to me. Arthur would never send anything out that isn’t perfect and I promise that I HIGHLY RECOMMEND ARTHUR HATFIELD BANJOS over anyone else’s in the business Arthur is first class- don’t let this stray anyone from the truth Arthur is a gentleman and honest as they come I have known Arthur for 20 years and he has always went above and beyond for every customer no matter what the order was.
