I was gonna get one of these brush wire wheels for my lawn, driveway and sidewalk. Thanks for saving me the extra expense. I'll just keep on with my trusty craftsman.🙂
@mainstreetmower3 ай бұрын
Absolutely man. It is a pretty solid tool for those uses as long as you're ok with scratches and slight damage to the pavement.
@1992-g2k2 ай бұрын
Lol trusty and craftsman don't go hand in hand. Any gas craftsman tool I have ever owned is garbage. chainsaws are junk, edgers are junk, weedwackers are junk, mowers are junk... at least the eazy start model wackers are. stihl,husq and those name brands are the only equipment worth working on. every stihl or husq I own can sit for years pull it out the shed put some gas in her she fires. I have a craftsman edger and all it does is give me a piece of equipment to work on any time I use it. Mind you, I take care of my equipment and craftsman just lets me down every time. I spend more time working on craftsman tools than working with their tools.. guess there is a reason why some shops won't work on them and refer to them as throw away machines... My early years of having equipment and tools from craftsman Is what helped me gain knowledge of small engines... All I ever did was work on them.

Finally a to the point, respectable, useful review of this sketchy product. I bought exact same attachment for my Stihl and yeh thanks China for no instructions. But I did buy it for the purpose of attacking weeds in asphalt/concrete cracks, so I think I'll order that OEM Stihl nut you recommended and use this wire turd just for pathway applications. Solid video. Took watching a dozen peckerwood videos and get mad as hell - only to find your video and basically regain my faith in humanity.

Thanks for the demo. I am so tired of spending time fixing my string trimmer and was thinking about buying a wire wheel. It looks to be as frustrating and time consuming as my double string trimmer. I had a single string trimmer that I loved, worked incredibly well and one of the guys I let store stuff in my garage stole it. I didn't notice until the next summer when I moved and by that time it was too late. Cannot for the life of me find a simple single string trimmer.

@@mainstreetmower I'm now on my fourth trimmer since my single line was stolen. It's a Stihl and it's again, double line. Not sure who the genius was that thought this was a great idea but I'm not buying another one. If need be I will cut with my scissors as it would be just as time consuming as constantly fiddling with the line.

Those wheels work beautifully on angle grinders but do NOT wear loose clothing and do wear welding or other tough leather gloves for the same reasons welders wear them. I don't know what kind of person would think that a wire brush can cut grass. It is not advertised as cutter, it is not a cutter and therefor you cannot cut with it. Pretty straight forward. I cannot believe that people actually needed to watch a review video to see what this is for....
@mainstreetmower3 ай бұрын
You're right, the lack of ANY advertising even on the package of this product left a lot of questions unanswered. Before we decided to review this video, this product was going viral on social media with slow-mo clips of it cutting grass. So we decided to test it. hope you enjoyed the video too 🙂
@badseednut3 ай бұрын
@@mainstreetmower Thanks for the answer. I know of this product for over 20 years. I have never seen a clip of it cutting grass. This brush is only for brushing off weed of off patios or paint from surfaces like metal, as it will turn wood into dust before you realise it. If indeed there is such a video showing it cutting grass, it's misleading and whoever did it is a mo**on.

@@badseednut Well for anyone that hasn't known about this product for 20 years, this video serves as a great insight I think. SAE thread? and that thing looks chinese so um ya, metric thread? also, its called Left hand threads not reverse threads. Pro tip : SAE stands for "Society of Automobile Engineers" which is what most threads are here in america but no so much anymore as its cheaper to use a metric bolt for in between sizes instead of sae to save money on weight which equates to more shipping costs so unfortunately now more and more cars are made with metric than standard because of shipping. some worthless information i thought id share, thanks for the video!
