BRANDS TESTED: Stihl, Oregon, Kurt-Saw, Forester, Renegade Hybrid, AR-PRO, and ATIE General Purpose saw blade. Blades tested for performance in grass, cutting through one-inch, 2-inch, and 3.5 inch saplings. Blade durability test: blades came into contact with a metal pipe and concrete block while in use. After damage assessment, blades once again tested for cutting speed on a 3.5-inch tree. I always purchase all of the products tested. So, thank you for supporting the channel.

Ill pair it with my ridgid recip saw with the diablo carbide 9" pruning blade for the thicker stuff. Cant wait to try these blades assuming the universal kit even works with the hypertough weed eater.

I have found that sage brush wears down the blades rather quickly. Probably because the bark tends to hold lots of dirt. It would be nice to test the durability of the carbide tipped blades. The Renegade has more teeth so maybe it will last longer.

I used the carbide tipped Renegade blades to clear sage brush and rabbit brush on a few acres. They cut extremely well when new. Wish I had known about the Kurt-Saw blades. It would be interesting to see which blade lasts the longest since the carbide geometry is different. Some manufacturers also claim to have special carbide formulations. I would also like to add that my Stihl Brush Cutter had an arbor size that required the arbor-adapter washer. But that did not work because the end cap is cupped so the adapter would slip. Stihl and Renegade could not solve the problem for me so I had to machine an adapter. I was really disappointed with the Stihl support.

Testing ideas: - Keyed and Keyless Chucks for impact drivers. It's something I seem to always need, but never buy because reviews of most of them scare me. But is there a good enough chuck for 1/4" quick-release impact drivers? Dewalt, Neiko, Makita, Jacobs (if they even make them anymore,) and a few other 'less well known' brands I see on Amazon and Google. - Digital 'laser' Thermometers, which ones are [most?] accurate, what is the range they can be accurate to/from. Also, durability, because drop tests make things dance.-

I learned the hard way after having to pay for damage. I elininated that problem by carring and extra trimmer dedicated to brush. When i cut brush this is all i cut with the trimmer. I have a hedge trimming blade on a changeable shaft and a shaft for doing only edging and a shaft to trim grass and weeds. Don't risk cutting into anything you don't know what it has in it or used for. Replacing damage can cost hundreds if not thousands in repair cost. I had to pay for wire and it was not cheap. The conduit had to be replace too. It cost me. Almost $3000 in parts and labor. Hard lesson to learn. I'm just thankful i had insurance to cover repair. My insurance also went up. So a valuble lesson.

You should include a sound level on each trimmer wire when you test them next. For electric trimmers, it's kind of insane. I switched to ugly twist recently from the round stuff my 40v kobalt trimmer came with, and the sound difference was so insane -the twist being nearly silent- that I genuinely thought something was wrong.

Thanks for the awesome videos as always. If you ever do another grease video I'd be interesting in seeing a test on "Green Grease" ... it makes a lot of claims. Also, another vote for TC-W3 specific two stroke oil comparisons.

Hard to beat a Black and Decker Piranha 7 1/4 carbide 40 tooth blade for cutting 1/2 inch to 4 inch wood plant. Will beat any of the cutting time noted in this video. Of course 4 inch trees need to be cut from two sides.

I have been seeing videos and reading that soaking you string makes it last longer. Have you done any test with soaking string? The claim is that string dries out and becomes brittle. Soaking it in water rehydrates the string making it more flexible.

Can you do a test of different automobile oil filters? Is the expensive filter really that much better than a cheaper filter?

Did the 1 inch hole saw you used to open up the arbor hole have carbide teeth. I tried to open up a standard 5/8" circular saw blade to 1 inch, but I had a lot of problems. I tried a HSS step drill and a carbide tipped spade drill. Nothing worked for me. I haven't tried a hole saw. I was trying to be cheap. It cost me more to to buy drills to open up the arbor hole on a cheap circular saw blade than it was to just but a blade that fit my trimmer. The blade with the chainsaw teeth are easier to re-sharpen out in the field. If you are using the trimmer away from home, like I do, the chainsaw version is better. I clean up off-road 4x4 trails in the mountains. P.S. I just realized if you had a battery powered Dremel tool or 12 volt chain saw sharpener you could use a diamond tipped grinding bit to sharpen carbide in the field. .

Love the follow up video! Hope you do more of these in the future, some easy material for new videos and you can apply your updated testing methodology to them as well! Pretty spot on on the recommendations as well. I'm not sure where the link is to your poll, perhaps make it more visible in the comments section or somewhere unless this is a Patreon thing.

Hey! This is probably going to be lost in the comments, but I figured I'd shoot my shot here. I've been watching your channel for a couple years on and off, but only recently have I been binging all your videos, and noticed you're really familiar with Osage Orange around the homestead, probably living in the Midwest? . I used to live in Illinois and had dealt with it all my life but out where I live now, there really isn't many hedge apple. I bring this up because I want to ask if I were to pay you for parts/labor/shipping to sell me some blocks, branches, logs, etc.. Osage is my absolute favorite wood to do woodworking projects with, from pipes to knife handles- to even an engagement ring! many tree service places will love you to take it away from them because it's a bear to deal with, but I can't find any out here.. and people selling it online are usually AA grade or better and very expensive. It's a long shot to ask for, but you never know until you ask

I hope you will test these flex hoses. Most are expanding, a couple are not. They’re all over TV and YT. Which ones do what they claim? Do they meet their own burst tests? How strong are the interior tubes and exterior sheaths? Are the “pro” models with heavy duty brass fittings worth it? Etc. I tried a couple and they eventually find the weak spot in the tube, expend at that spot and burst.
