Coneheads was one of my favorite SNL movies.

No. It is definitely NOT the worst SNL movie. It's actually one of the best IMO.

yeah, for sure. I'd say it's a pretty solid comedy. Definitely in the top 5 best. But even if you disagree that it's good... it still can't be called the worst and is still easily in the top 5. I mean... the competition includes Superstar, The Ladies Man, A Night at the Roxbury, Stuart Saves His Family, It's Pat, and MacGruber for crying out loud... (that being said, if the only other SNL movies you're aware of are Wayne's World, Wayne's World 2, and The Blues Brothers, which I think is true for a lot of people, then calling it the worst is completely fair)

Damn Lucy err Hayley this was really well done! I clicked on the video because i remember loving the movie as a kid and remember they did MASSIVE promotion for it too. I signrd up for the sexy stuff and stuck around for the great movie reviews 😅

I remember when this came out in Fall '92. SNL hadn't done a Coneheads sketch in 12 or 13 years! (Talk 'bout BAD timing!) Younger movie-goers were too young to remember the Coneheads while viewers old enough to remember them didn't feel like paying a full-ticket price to see them again.

I saw Coneheads at the Drive In back in 1993 when I was nearly 9 years old. The Drew Carey scene was longer since this is where Beldar lies for the first time that he's from France. There's also a scene where in the beginning Beldar was being explained that his ship can't be damaged as long as the cloaking device was active. Another scene where beldar is opening his garage door and a scene where they are eating at an establishment on Remulak. These scenes were cut from home release.

Thank you very much for this great video. I learned things, well it's true that living in Switzerland and speaking mainly French I don't have a great knowledge of American television and I didn't even know that Wayne's World and The Blues Brothers were first SNL sketches. You made me want to watch this movie again that I saw as a teenager and therefore a thousand years ago. I have a little question unrelated, what brand is your sublime lipstick? Ruby Woo from Mac like Elvira? I noticed in many videos how good you are at applying makeup, it impresses me. I don't know if I would have the courage to comment on another video so I say thank you for your great channel which makes me discover and rediscover a lot of films.

8:43 - It comes back, doesn't it? He works his way up through menial jobs to own a home, have a family and his own business. Looking good with the teeth, driving a car so he's not chained to a desk, he's his own boss, and he takes cash only from Jan Hooks. I know it's not a BIG plot point but it's a little detail that adds to the movie. Love coneheads. Your videos too. 👍

I have very fond memories of this film as a kid, along with films like My Stepmother Is an Alien and pretty much everything Tom Hanks was in from the late 80's, right the way through the 90's. At the time it was a banger of a film.

It's a perfectly fine, simple movie. Compared to today it's a masterpiece. Great makeup, special effects and cute jokes that can always make you giggle. The early 90's were just a fun, creative time.

Fun fact the original Connie conehead from the SNL skits was in the movie Coneheads as Laarta but her real name is Laraine Newman, She also was Lawanda in the movie Problem child 2

I think the set up established with sinbad about the rules of success was really to highlight the “chewing gum” running joke and how while he comprehends the advice he misconstrues it. Setting up comedic misunderstandings etc.

At least it's not Stewart Saves His Family. I love this movie. This, alone with Happy Gilmore, is the reason why I love Subway. I think that the scene between Dan is Sinbad is just fun. I believe that Lorraine Newman played Connie in the original sketches. I'm glad that they changed the actress. It makes sense for Connie to speak like an earthling since she was born on Earth. I guess that you haven't seen Grease? They were in their 30s playing teens. So, it's believable for Farley to play one. He's born believable as teen than Mark Holton in Teen Wolf.

I thought it was a decent SNL movie. It stayed true to the original skits only modernizing them into the 90s which I think worked out well given Beldar could use alien technology and it wouldn’t be too out of place to humans. And I liked how we were give a reason why the Coneheads were placed on Earth.
