We have had killdeer nesting in our gravel driveway for many years. Fun to watch but a pain to remember to navigate around their nest. The bigger the property...the chores grow exponentially

Yeah come to think of it ... it was neat to see them this first time, but it will get old fast dodging their nests.

@@bellrisefarm you probably won't see the babies because the adult take them away within hours of hatching.

@@roberthughes2665 Yep, we saw one luckily. Almost missed it because it looked exactly like the egg. Came back later that day and they were all gone.

We'll take it, thanks! It's an amazing vehicle ... makes the Model X feel like a dinosaur.

Dr Power has all kinds of battery powered tools and even trimmers/mowers.

Nice tip … they weren’t on our radar. Some good looking stuff.

get yourselves a rear weight for that badboy and it'll be fine the next time you try to pull posts or lift something a little heavier!

Yep, on it. We thought the loaded tires would be enough, but apparently not.

Great job again! Love all the detail. Maybe I *will* record our journey. Our house is going up for sale this month!

Haha you should. Let us know if you do. And get some rest ... the never ending work is about to begin.

Don't mess around with the killdeer nest too much. They may abandon it if they see you around the eggs. We have killdeer on our property every single year and they have abandoned their nest twice because of our goats
@bellrisefarm7 ай бұрын
Good to know, thanks. I'm surprised the snakes don't get them. Are their nests always down low like this?
@HeresMinx7 ай бұрын
@@bellrisefarm yes absolutely. I have never ever seen them nest in a tree, i’m not sure why exactly they choose this. They always nest in the little overgrown spot next to our manure pile. Thankfully in our area snakes are not an issue for these birds as our biggest snake is a garter snake. They are very very smart birds.

Should sell the trailer you have and invest in a dump trailer so you handle material less. You can also haul your mower and tractor. Also for spraying a more natural route would be water, dishsoap, and salt to kill weeds. You don't have to worry about a mask with it either.

Been thinking about that. Would also allow us to manage the gravel road a bit easier. Add it to the list!
