Maintaining Motivation - The GpZ550 fires up again!

The last few months have been a weird time huh? Not like they've been any less or more weird than the last two years, to be fair.
It's been near half-a-year since the last update to this channel. In that time a lot has changed in the world and in my workshop.
But! Recently, the Kawasaki GPZ550 cafe racer we call the 'Kodakasaki' has been more or less wrapped up. This video we go over the hundred little things that needed to get done to get this little ripper ready for the road.
Finally, I'm going solo. You may have noticed that the channel name has changed to just my own name. I'm no longer associated with the shop I was working with previously. I'm excited for the potential that holds, since I think of it as having the leash unclipped. I can really start to explore the wilder side of custom bikes. Hope you'll stick around to see!

100%. Im back on my CB175 project, I tried to start it a couple weeks ago, nothing. Moped around for a week, then realized I should put it on reserve… ran long enough to put more money into haha.

Sorry I don't get on here on the daily. This exhaust system was used, I think it was from a facebook GPZ group. Old Kawasaki parts in general seem hard to come by.

hmm, I'm not super familiar with those bikes (I've never owned a kawi myself, the GPz is a friend's bike) but the KZrider.com forums and the factory manual are probably your best bet for info. I have a video cleaning up the 2nd gen CB750 carbs which are CV carbs like yours, so a lot of that info would apply, though the small details will be different: kzbin.info/www/bejne/haDUiXWreLZ7fK8 We ended up replacing the carbs on the GPz since we did a big bore kit. Hope that helps!
