Hello Amanda, After 70 years of knitting and very little crocheting, I decided it was time to crochet more and improve my limited skill. KZbin is always my “Go To” place for learning and has come up trump once again. I scrolled through a few videos and then zeroed in on “Maisie and Ruth”, because my cat is called Maisie - such a Scottish name, and how delighted I was to realize that like myself, you’re Scottish too. I live in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada and I’m delighted to discover you. Your tutorials are wonderful and so easy to follow. I have now crocheted several pattern swatches and feel quite prepared to choose one and make a baby blanket to send to my great, great niece expected in July in Carluke, Lanarkshire. Please keep on with your tutorials they are so explicit and easy to follow. Sarah Kennedy

Hi Sarah, thanks so much for your kind feedback - that's a really nice start to my weekend! 🥰 I hope that you've decided on a project for the new arrival and you're making good progress with it! Maisie (Mary Ann) was the name of my grandmother - as was Ruth. They taught me most of what I know today regarding knitting and crochet, so I decided to name my channel after them 😊 Thanks for following along with me! Wishing you and your family a lovely weekend 💝

I love your tutorials! Before 2 weeks ago I could only manage single crochet. Now I'm making baby bear hat, mittens and baby blankets. I made a set for my baby grandson. I'm very grateful for your tutorials. I have tried other tutorials and your's is the best! You go slow for beginners and I am learning how to crochet many things. thank you so much!

I find your teaching easy to follow. I have worked a sample of the shell stitch baby blanket and it's one for the future as songs I finish my bobble stitch blanket. Lovely ❤

What a pretty pattern! I've been trying another of your patterns but had terrible difficulties keeping it square so I gave up! With this one I worked the sample size first and that was fine. Then I started on the full size and all was fine until I realised I had worked the chain three and gone on to the next set without working the double crochets! So, I unpicked it as far back as I needed and put my mistakes right. I did get into a muddle at one of the row ends and found I had more shells than I shu ld but I wasn't in the mood to unpick it and carried on. All is well now and my blanket is growing, surely but slowly. One corner is wonky but I doubt my reborn doll will worry!!Thank you for this beautiful pattern and your so in depth instructions. I'm useless with crochet written patterns so seeing it done is brilliant. Thanks again 😀

@@MaisieandRuth I've finished the blanket but I felt it needed some colour so I crocheted a row of double crochets around the edge in pink. I did plan to work another round of tiny picots but it looks really pretty as it is so I have left it at that without the picots.
