You are an amazing teacher! I am 72 and was taught basic crochet by my grandmother when I was six. I have been “dabbling” with crocheting until I retired from teaching Special Ed students,5 years ago. Since then I have been looking at KZbin videos trying to learn more about crocheting. You go into such detail when you teach that it takes ALL of the guess work on what to do and how to do it. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!!

I have crocheted for years and this is the first and best instruction I’ve ever seen on how to finish all the edges on a finished project. The pattern is similar to one I’ve made many times and just left the side edges as is. This method of finishing all the edges gives the project a completed look. Thank you.

The sides (edges at the ends of the rows) are what always give me the most trouble. I love that she has a system instead of just "crochet evenly."

You'll definitely get it. Don't feel bad if you have to go back to repeat the second row. She makes the directions very easy. When I forstarted, I was very ambitious and tried many patterns. I almost gave up. Then I found this pattern and I thought I would just look at the video. After I saw just the first couple of minutes, I was "encouraged". I now make these all the time. It's one of my favorite blankets!
@anniedavis88095 жыл бұрын
You can do it, I know you can! Just follow the directions one part at a time! Wait until the next day or so and watch the next part of the video, if you can't remember it , watch again, or write out this next part of the instructions! I have found that most all of my mistakes have happened when I continued after I was tired. Just do it step by step, just 1 at a time like she shows , and I just know that it will turn out beautifully!!!

I love this stitch. It's perfect for a baby blanket. I know I have said this before but I really enjoy your vlogs and tutorials. I tried to follow a pattern for a simple crocheted Christmas star. The pattern was so sketchy. It left out steps. I have been rereading patterns I collected years (1980's) ago. I know why I didn't develop as a hooker because the patterns weren't detailed. As I make my circles into squares (yes, I am still doing that), I hear you say, "Wrap your yarn and take off two." HA! You have also helped me to understand design. I now know when something doesn't look right, why it doesn't look right. Thank you again. Hope you have a blessed day!

Hi krista. Could you suggest a border for this busy pattern. I was just thinking about a few rows of single crochet. Suggestions would be greatly appreciated
@tamirine14345 жыл бұрын
That was a great video - thank you! Your instructions were very clear and the videography was wonderful. There was no going out of the frame with the work or hands getting in the way of the stitches like you see in so many other videos. The level that you were zoomed in at was perfect. So many other videos are not zoomed in nearly enough to clearly see what's happening and show way too much of the crafter's self (or her work space, etc.) rather than the work itself. One technique that may seem like a small thing, but which I found very helpful, was when you took a colorful darning needle and demonstrated exactly where the stitch was that you were referring to before going ahead and completing the step. That was super effective and much appreciated. It can often be a little confusing when you hear something like, "The 5th stitch from the hook", and I'm sometimes not sure that I didn't choose the wrong stitch to work into. Your instructions leave a viewer feeling very confident that they can recreate what you've just taught. I loved it!

Hi Krista.Love this pattern. I'm a gran but not drunk😂.I made many baby blankets for charity in this and many patterns. Last year I had a fall and hurt on head which caused me to forget all the crochet I did.Started again and looked at many patterns but love this and at it again .I'm 74yr old and enjoying again. God bless you for simplicity and teaching us slowly to get the hang of it .Lots of love from Cape Town .South Africa ❤❤

Thanks so much. My granddaughter has given us a beautiful great granddaughter. I’ve just learned from KZbin tutorials how to knit. Now I’m concentrating on making a baby blanket that I hope will continue after I’m gone. You made it so simple to follow. I’ll send a pic when I’m done. I will give it to her when we move to Sweden in November. Thanks

Hi there! I have enjoyed making this blanket with you! I finished the size I wanted and started finishing out the border (single crochet into the space then chain two, single crochet in the top of the middle of the shell then chain one). You tell us to meet you at the end and then it jumps to you starting he next edge. How do we finish out that first edge and turn the corner before starting the next edge?
@jennifersmolky75375 жыл бұрын
3 stitches in corners in same chain. This turns corners.
