I enjoy Oud Satin Mood, not very complex, too pricey for what it has to offer, but a nice scent, one of the nicest western ouds. Too bad they do 70ml, at least give me the 100 for that price. If someone gifts me the fragrance, I would wear it, but I won’t buy it. Great impression, Ram!

The extrait is the only MFK I have , woman absolutely love it 😍 and I think it’s pretty damn good myself. Basic jammy rose 🌹 done to perfection

@@RamseytheRam , nearly exact , but a touch darker and more powerful , first time I wore it in the Castro , San Francisco heads were turning everywhere, and my waiter at the Sausage Factory complemented it , the second time a coworker Greta hugged and nuzzled me and wouldn’t let go. It’s magic somehow

It’s a long while since I smelled Oud Satin Mood but I remember it being nauseatingly sweet. I prefer the other two from the collection. Oud extrait is a guilty pleasure. It’s probably shite but I enjoy wearing it.

Cheers Rams , luxury blob for sure ,it sits high on the heap of luxury blogs for sure and does its luxury blob job better than most, my manager wore it in work one day and at first when she first sprayed it I kinda was taken aback,however it was really quite nice on her as the day wore on , fair dues I guess but for myself nope ,ya can’t run away from yourself when you need a breather lol 😂. Never tried this one. I do have the Oud extrait and love it. One to sample! Silk mood irked my nose. Some MFKs make me feel nauseous - I guess it’s whatever the aroma-chemicals are. Curious, IFRA kill off ingredients like Oakmoss but let people throw up on manufactured replacements.

But totality really was awesome yesterday. 🌑 First, and probably only time I'll ever get to look directly at the sun with my bare eyes. Niche is truly the new designer. Unfortunately designer thinks it's the new niche with respect to pricing. Devil Man was talking about a perfume market reset coming down the road. I hope he's right. Otherwise I'm happy to just continue giving my $16 to Bogart.

Yup I think that is more wishful thinking ...especially with all these big brand that own such a large % of the market now... I think they all work with each other to set pricing like a monopoly... but that's just the economist in me taking a guess

I wouldn't normally recommend clones but I have to say, Barakkat Satin Oud is pretty nice and from what you're saying about the original Mood Satin Oud, it sounds like the drydown might actually be a little more interesting.

I get no Oud from this at all. To me it's a Rose/Vanilla. I own and like it, but I honestly think it is best suited for a woman. I think Oud Silk Mood is more masculine.

Ramsey, i love this perfume. I thought it was the best jammy rose perfume ever with more nuances and interest of any of my rose perfumes. I would love to know what rose oud perfume you find high quality that would tick all the boxes for a sweet feminine rose violet oud. ✨🌹

Sweet isn't really my thing lol But Malik Al Taif is my all time favorite Rose Oud, Ottoman Empire is another good one I recently tried a brand and reviewed it on the channel called Katana Khaan that was a very interesting Rose / Oud I just wish what I smelled in the opening lasted into the dry down with that one

I own this and roja amber aoud. When i don't want to blast thru my amber aoud i go with satin mood. They smell similar but of course amber aoud is a better version but they're both hit the same nail. SOTN: Chanel comete (finally got my bottle and couldn't have been better than to wear it than on eclipse day 😊)

I will say the following, the extraits of this collection are (in my nose) much better, thicker and stronger than EDPs, yet profile is maintained extremely well! I have had both satin EDP and Extrait and tested all of the other available ouds. The conclusion is the same Extrait much better!

Also, in the extrait I actually detect some real oud, but more woody type, not fecal or animalic.

MFK as a house doesn’t appeal to me. Everything I have tried, comes off as pretentious and simplistic. Grand soir was a massive letdown given the hype it has from reviewer. Amber done to be mass appealing, missing out on some of the most important facets of an amber accord like labdanum. If given a choice, I would pick santal royal over oud satin mood for this sort of scent profile.

When I had a chance to listen to The Moon and Promise FM not long ago, I received the answer that there is no life on Mars. If it weren’t for your reviews about artisanal perfumes Bortnikoff, Areej le dore and others, I would still be heavily sniffing great oil-chemical brands, constantly saying WOW this is a MASTERPIECE! However, everyone has their own tastes and preferences, and there has been no arguing about them for a long time.

Yeah man it's sad to me what is happening in the perfume game... I think if I didn't fall in love with oud and get to know houses like Areej Le Dore, Ensar Oud & Bortnikoff I would be even more depressed...but at least I still have Vintage

Actually, I’m a student trying to build up a collection, which is financially challenging. Ensar is way beyond what I can afford, and Areej Le Dore always sells out so quickly. However, some time ago, I had the opportunity to try a variety of Bortnikoff scents. I assumed they would be way too animalic for my taste, but surprisingly my favorite ended up being Oud Maximus. Thanks for introducing me to this kind of perfumery man I really appreciate it

Sadly i hate the smell of this perfume, it gives me a headache. Generally this house is way out of my taste in perfumes and find it very overrated, i only like Gentle Fluidity Silver but not so much to buy it either!
