This is pikas first or second worst match up out of the entire cast, Esam also has very few secondaries to switch to which is the main reason he lost. Despite that I feel like esam is fairly bad at this matchup, he could definitely improve on things. Meister is still a great player despite all the things going against Esam and hes shown that by beating other good players as well.

You try to throw eggs but they get reflected by bucket, so you go in to apply shield pressure but you get up b’d so you can either grab, which has er bad-ish risk reward, or you can try baiting out the up b and challenge down air but uh that’s rough so you get put in disadvantage and you’re like ok double jump super armor so you double jump but you’re still in the air and uh game and watch is still below you so you eat two or three up airs til you’re forced to ledge and then you’re getting ledge trapped by g and w until you eventually escape and uh try again I guess? Unless you get a lead in which case it’s ok. Er ok-ish because up air is still a thing.

@@ShroudofBob yea that seems to be the flowchart of the matchup so I agree with you...I suppose I was thinking that Yoshi's Nair our of shield and other OoS options could be helpful. Yoshi would have the air speed to contend with g&w up b and key/aerials maybe using up air and Bair which are both a little disjointed. And also neutral B on g&w shield. Or occasionally for the shield break with Yoshi bomb. That was my rationale, but I could see how g&w could invalidate a lot of that, especially with bucket and eggs. I could see Wario or maybe Bowser maybe getting the job done. What are g&W's bad matchups?

Pikachunite maybe olimar and projectile characters are annoying maybe they’re not. What I get annoyed by are people who claim to be “ casual”then get mad because they suck(this is the thing that’s annoying G to them not the chaelracter the fact that they’re Garbage). Complaining about characters will never cease nerf all those into the ground then all of a sudden a new character is annoying. Notice how through the life of the game tier list change , but the same ones who spent the majority of their time complaining are still at the same skill level 4 years later. I don’t understand how someone could have the nerve to try and talk down on players, maister etc. who take the characters to another level while they themselves can’t even make it out of bracket at a 20 player locals.
