Yeah, this game...Oh this GAME I remember, I was young and I remember seeing 'Miaze' don't where, nor when but it gave me nightmares?! Now I look at it it makes no sense. But this was a feverdream, but as soon as I saw it...I instantly recognised it. Also I didn't even think this was a game a first that's how insane it was. Now I really looking at the comments and everyone is having the same response that this game was a dream or hallucination.

I remember watching a playthrough of this when it came out. I didn’t know anything about it, including the basic premise as far as the corn was concerned. It was so atmospheric that I remember almost being kinda scared, y’know, because I felt like I was waiting for another shoe to drop.

I can seriously relate to the "I owed money on taxes this year" part. Nothing else has ever made me feel so old! I am very confused by the concept behind this game, it really doesn't feel like it had a target audience with all the "humor" and was like, something someone came up with in a dream and never stopped to be like...is this working? Neat concept but I really think someone should have sat the lead down for a serious discussion.

Honestly, I’m amazed that this game even exists at all. It’s honestly good that bizarre games like these are made, since otherwise we’d just get more focus-group-tested-to-perfection bland boring games that don’t leave any lasting memories. This game is a stupid gamble and they didn’t actually pull it off, but I’m glad that it exists and hopefully the one person in the Venn diagram who would like this game eventually hears about it.

I remember watching John Wolfe playing this game and I thought it was absurd and quirky, but overall a fun game to watch. To this day, I still occasionally pull up the theme song, 'Top Secret' to listen to. It's a banger for somebody who grew up in the 80's. I also caught the similarity in humor to Monty Python and I got more than a few giggles out of watching John's gameplay. Overall, I think Maize is one of those games that's an experience you have once and then it's over; like watching a comedy you'll likely never go out of your way to see again, but it still made you laugh.

I doubt that all of it is great satire with very deep meaningful undertones. It is a good Myst-parody, closer to a "Zork remake" parody, given the many mazes that it has. It is only parody, because it fails to critique and it fails to show alternatives, besides just trashing the source material like "Pyst" It is not made for humor, because it knows how to animate, but fails to do slapstick. a game like "giants citizen kabuto" excells in absurdist and slapstick humor in comparison. Maize is a game, that seems to be "made by milennials" for better and worse. I do not buy into generation labels. Still, there are some memes about how "millennials ruin gaming" that make some solid arguments, ruining games mostly by utterly clueless and cringe-inducing writing, and also via influencer-advertising exploits, and genuine extreme Mary-sue-characters and cardboard-cutout stereotypes, to a point, where the game can only be absurdist andOr horror, and never be a coherent narrative. More automated game-design with simpler tools also create a trial and error approach, often involving very naive/superficial/artificial designers/methods, leads to much more shovel-ware, that preys on addictive behavior.
