Todays video is all about Comparable items for popular baby products to help you save money. Clearly, for a FRACTION of the price, they may not all be as high of quality as the originals. However, they accomplish the same or similar thing and can save you a lot of money if you are on a budget!
I am not telling you you need all these items or their dupes. Some of them I do think are great and I’ll state that when I talk about it, but some I personally don’t think is a must have. But they are all very popular baby registry must haves, so I wanted to share the dupe options to save you some money if you do deem any of them as must haves.

Awesome! I’m a 1st time mom, and I bought 95% of our registry for $1000! 😝including a $80 modern looking crib from Ikea. I spent a good time looking for “dupes” and you hit all the ones I saw. The only brand thing I didn’t care to spend on was the Frida line for my postpartum and some baby health stuff. I was so done with researching & considering reviews by then 😆 my in-laws did buy a $300 stroller duo that obv saved a good chunk.

I used the Nose Frida with my nephew years ago. Once you get over the fact that you're sucking up snot (that won't get in your mouth), it's not so bad, just requires some lung power. I recommend it!

I know everyone swears by the nose frida but I’ve never had an issue just using the regular bulb syringe nasal aspirator thing you get from the hospital.

I bought both the dockatot and the dupe. My son never liked sleeping in anything until he was about 3-4 months old. Then he loved the dockatot, and now loves the dupe as well. I keep one downstairs and one upstairs. I think they are pretty much the same thing except the dockatot just feels nicer and higher quality

I used an electronic snot sucking machine that was battery operated, kind of looked like an ear thermometer, and it worked SO much better than the nose frida ever did! My son had RSV 5 times in 9 months, and so we sucked snot every day all day and it never lost suction or needed any new parts. Cleaned the rubber nozzle in the sink and emptied the little snot bowl and in 10 seconds was ready for more! Ours was from Graco for about $20 at Walmart!

Just FYI regarding the Owlet baby monitor.... if you go to their website you will see that you can purchase this with your FSA (flexible spending account) or HSA (healthcare spending account) card if you have one. My son bought one there with his HSA card that his EMPLOYER puts money into every year as a benefit. Free money to use!

Facebook Marketplace is my current obsession. I have gotten so many great baby things for reduced price or even free off of it. And I also have the Summer Infant changing pad and it is great. I made my own cover for it because I had some spare fabric, but you can just put a towel on it or leave it bare!

Went to check out the Itzy ritzy bag and bounced around and found the stroller caddy - I wanted something for the Doona I just got but the bag specifically made for the doona was $60!!!! And it was just something for the handle area. Because of how the doona is designed I dont want any of the other additional bag options so this was perfect. I don't know if this is considered a dupe, buy I wanted the bag foot monitor just so I can get some peace of mind while sleeping (havingour first babe) and instead of getting that my parents gifted us the Costco monitor that comes with a sensor mat for temperature and breathing monitoring. It's a 2 in 1 essentially vs having to buy 2 separate items. And it's still way cheaper!

I bought the sense-U, don’t waste your money...it sucks, sends false alarms and when I did an experiment to see how fast it’ll detect no breathing (took it off baby while still turned on)...it took 30min to tell me there was no breathing detected....baby would be dead by then. Needless to say, it caused me more anxiety than not

For big ticketed items go on fb market place u can find great items super cheap I got my 4 in 1 crib that came with mattress, sheets, Mobile for $80 CND yes there is some teething marks on it but super easy to cover up n hide. It was super easy to sanitize and clean and I got curious and looked up the crib retail price n it was. $778 CANADIAN n that’s just a crib the mattress you have to purchase separately which cost about $200-$300 plus you had to buy the sheets separately in the mobile separately. my jaw dropped.

Love this video! ❤️. I saw a KZbin video where it states that if a baby snuggles it’s face in the DocATot that they won’t suffocate. I don’t know if that’s true. Maybe that’s why it costs a lot? I was so close to buying a Babyletto mini portable crib due to it being Greenguard Certified but than I found the brand DaVinci for half the price! Lol

That’s not true. It’s not recommended for sleep (although I totally use it for sleep lol). But if you see a dupe, I would get that and just monitor your baby at all times like you would if you got the original brand name. Honestly, I have the brand names of the products and don’t see anything special about the material or way it’s made. They are all made of cheaper materials, it’s just marketed better. So don’t worry about getting the more expensive one because you think it’s safer. It’s the same thing imo.

Is the Boppy Lounger similar to the Dock a Tot? Cause that’s what I have on my registry currently and I’ve seen dupes for that one too! Also.... I’ve watched a DIY dock a tot tutorial here on YT! If you’re crafty or can sew it’s another option.

They are similar, but slightly different. In the newborn stage they are loungers for baby. I had the boppy lounger for the newborn stage. While I did like it, it only lasts till baby can roll. They can roll right off it easily as soon as that begins (3-4ish months) so the boppy is really JUST for newborn stage. Also I would not co-sleep with the boppy lounger, I feel like they could roll off too easily. The dock a tot was originally made to be a better co sleeping option. The dock a tot can be used from 0 till 8 or 9 months I believe. Once baby can roll they can’t roll out of the dock a tot or other baby nests cause the walls are higher. All that said the Boppy Lounger is Wayyyyyyy cheaper, so there are pros and cons to each 😁

Susie Athey if u have the chance to get the cheaper dupes... go for it. I have the original brands, dockatot and boppy, and they are literally just pillows, so if you see something else with similar shape, get it lol. These brands are way overpriced for fluff. I didn’t think to look for dupes at the time.

Basically I think it’s safe ONLY while supervised; it is not safe for unsupervised time or nighttime sleep; especially not in the bed with parents! I think a lot of people get it for those reasons and you’re so right-it’s not safe for the “popular” purposes!

I’m not sure I agree with the cheap carriers. Baby Bjorn has horrible carriers. You either have one that is awful for your back and hips and the other supports only up to 33lbs. Lillebaby has very little resale value, so you can get them cheaply. Little Tikes has a Keekaroo knockoff for like $30. And there’s always IKEA for high-quality , low-price cribs!

OK I may get shamed for this but I think it’s hilarious the dot nest thing is a huge waste of money huge I think half the KZbinrs were saying all this is a must-have it’s amazing it’s because they’re getting paid to say that it’s amazing it’s too much money it’s too goddamn expensive my friend really wanted one and so I actually bought a pet bed for a cat or a smaller dog or medium size dog it was pink with polkadots it’s super cute and she had babies and she kept saying how much she loves this I told her all I lost the packaging in my kid ripped off the tag is a peppered it worked the exact same thing and I got it at petland and she loves it and her sister loves it every baby that came over tried it they all loved it it’s soft it’s silky it’s fluffy and everybody keeps looking for it it’s 😂

well you're an actual genius. ive been looking at baby nests and i just cant justify the price? i might look into this a bit.... thank you! (you know whats funny? we cant shame you, because the cover and filling in the dog bed will highly likely be the same as the filling in the baby nest, just overcharged.)

Han Odinni thank you 😊 I have a baby on the way n I went through a lot of baby showers n the prices are crazy so we started to think outside the box n found a ton of stuff n dIY that can be used the exact same way and half cost. Especially during the pandemic with a lot of people losing their jobs and maternity leave our not really getting that much, n your only going to use it for a short bit anyway. P.s most of the dog beds out there organic and made of organic products but you can also get coupons for them for like five dollars off $10 off so buy them when they go on added the coupon to the sale price and to be honest nobody will even notice it because there’s a lot of really cute designs
