San Francisco, CA, USA, it's New Years Day, 2021, and so I wish you all a blessed New Year. I grew up as a New Apostolic Christian in Germany, all was well, until I came out as a gay man in 1979. At that time all hell broke lose, among other actions/experiences, I was barred from communion, what's worse, it really hurt my dad, so much so, that he would call the chief apostle in hopes to be consoled, and ultimately was told not to call back. In the end I had no choice but to stop participating in church life, and to walk alone. That was 41 years ago, I'm 58 yo, and I never looked back, too painful. In conclusion: I really like this song, in fact, I am afraid it's the only song that I like, in connection with the New Apostolic Church. I am grateful for my life, and for this opportunity to tell my story, and I truly hope that it will enable me to finally put this behind me, and move on. After all, so many of meine Mitmenschen/my fellow humans don't even have a place where they can retire for the night, as the below video demonstrates - the title: Inside Europe's Worst Slum. kzbin.info/www/bejne/onuWl2agqMuhjMU

Hello Heinz, I am touched by your story. I too experienced this extreme time in the New Apostolic Church and can understand its problems very well. In the last 40 years a lot has changed in the church and many of those who have already died would no longer cope with today's times (my parents included). I sincerely wish you have found your peace of mind there in the United States.
