Majima is the PERFECT Villain [Lycoris Recoil] *Spoilers*

Looking back on it, it's still really hard to fully convey just how awesome Majima as a character really is. From minor details to dialogue choices, the guy's pretty much the coolest anime character you'll see in recent shows. I highly suggest watching the show if you haven't already. I do not do him justice with the video.

Oh and since I completely forgot to include this in the script, one massive reason why he's the best villain ever? Chisato fails at turning the explosion timer off in the end. She actually loses that final battle, though Majima does end up falling off the building and ending up as the "Villain" however, THE TIMER WAS FOR FIREWORK EXPLOSIONS HE LITERALLY DIDN'T CLARIFY WHAT TYPE OF EXPLOSIONS WERE GONNA HAPPEN AND HE SET OFF FIREWORKS THAT'S THE MOST CHAD SHIT I'VE SEEN ALL YEAR.

I think majima is relly fresh take on "joker" character. Where usually joker is agent of chaos, Majima convince himself that he is agent of balance. The way he talk and planning all his move is for the benefit of people who he think need help and people actually follow him because of that. But the way he act is 100% percent selfish and out of impulse and chaotic which make him so interesting. He talk like he care about all of his goons but he have zero care about his own safety just to fulfill his own desire. I like the contrast between how Chitose, where both of them do want their want but Chitose think what she did is because her selfishness(don't want to kill people no matter what) but what she did actually selfless while majima think he did what he did for others(bringing balance) while what he did is just for his own weird satisfaction

Splendid commentary! It's great to see another analysis that explains why Lycoris is so great. Majima really is just a rather standard villian, but as you mentioned, it's because he gets to play off against a well-written character like Chisato that he inadvertedly gets fleshed out. After all, they really are just 2 sides of the same coin. Both have superpowers, both are self-serving and both begrudgingly work with an organization, that depending on which lens you look at, is a complete dystopian nightmare. He's a mirror reflection of Chisato, but with his own twist and personality, and that to me makes him all the more better. Someone could say that Majima is the hero and Chisato is the villian, and you won't really be able to fault them for it. That's what makes Majkma amazing, cause a great villian is one that can actually convince the viewers that they are the main character of their own story.

I really love this video, he is a very great villain form a really under appreciated anime. Thank you for taking the time to give him a proper analysis. He’s not a tragic villain nor does he get much of a backstory, if anything he was a mere henchman before his entire team was killed. He even threatens his hacker saying “your intel for my guys killed so I’m going to even it out” this makes him seem as if he cares about the, yet his final plan counted on lycoris massacring his men so he could make them look like killers. He in unapologetically evil. This video has helped me to better understand not only how amazing Majima is, but his great this show is as a whole, I can’t wait to see what he will do in season 2

If there's any future seasons, I really hope Majima and Chisato get to team up against some other enemy, that way we get to see the "Friend" side of their weird frienemy dynamic in full action. Plus I'd feel sorry for any enemy who has to fight those two at the same time.

I'm glad I'm not the only one with this view/opinion. Majima is my favorite “villain” in anime his motives were just, all he wanted was to show the real side of Japan. I see nothing wrong with that, he also just seems fun to be around. Honestly Majima is my favorite character in the whhle show and just favorite villian of all time.

I really like Majima because I like the crazyish character that have a sense of justice, right and wrong but they’re selfish but still end up doing or trying to do something for the greater good even if it’s ruthless and they’re playing the villain. That’s a description for Majima, Akechi (persona 5 royal) and Happy Chaos (guilty gear strive), they also look similar to each other, what is this crazy joker trope called I need to know they are my favorites I don’t agree with any of the three because their beliefs end up having casualties for innocents. Chisato proved that the enemy can change and they have a life and the DA are always ruthless which is funny because that makes Majima the terrorist the neutral one because he does not do anything good but hates the DA Another interesting thing is from what I recall Majima never kill innocents because he’s with the weak, he’s a villain because he got a chaotic method of balancing things I enjoy this show because it have a happy ending and dramatic scenes Although I want to say that it’s very frustrating at some point. I was yelling in my mind on the rising action (before attacking Majima) because not a single member of the main team communicate with each other. There’s like 20 police officers in the entirety of the city. When the Lycoris got to the top floor they did not care that the roombas are there, like are you not suspicious of these things, in the end the roombas explode. Those are just a few upsetting things aside from Kurumi not doing anything

I just finished watching LR. And that was actually great. Majima is GOAT. Somebody my call him a "Cheap Joker" but those people probably didn't really watch series. Yes, he wants chaos. Yes, he has green hair. Yes, he is obsessed with his archenemy. But does it really matter if Majima has entirely different reason to fight? Joker wanted just spread death, make chaos and corrupt good people. Majima doesn't fight for chaos. It's about balance. He himself admitted that he would fight against chaos and crime if they're was stronger side. Cheap Joker? Then guys like Izaya Orihara or Makishima Shougo can also be described that way. Also, I love then hero and villain can just sit and talk about some stuff without expressing hate. And those two scenes are one the most wholesome in series. Thank god, Majima doesn't hate her that much and Chisato is kind enough to be friendly with her enemy. I waiting for season 2 just for this two weirdos. Also, seanse Majima describe how hypothetically he could be on Chisato side let's hope this situation will become real and we'll see Chisato and Majima fighting back to back!

I suggest you to play the Yakuza game series. Like seriously, LycoReco Majima is so similar to Yakuza's Majima that it adds so much appreciation to his character as a whole
