This episode always reminds me of the Snes game Dragon Ball Z Hyper Dimension because I could never get past Majin Buu in story mode. The mechanics of air fights in that game are very complicated and made the fight even more difficult.

DBZ villain power scaling is well thought out and interesting: Frieza - Multiple form changes and heals upon changing forms. Can survive in the vacuum of space. Cell - more powerful than frieza and can use his opponents attacks, and can regenerate without form changes as well as receive zenkai boost from surviving near death attacks. Like frieza he can survive in space as well Buu- regeneration is almost instantaneous and he doesn’t use much energy unlike cell who does. Near death doesn’t give Buu zenkai boosts but he can absorb people to transform and increase his strength. He can turn them into candy as well. It’s likely Buu can turn people into other things but just choses candy. He can disconnect parts of himself and use them on opponents. He can of course instantly use his opponents energy attacks or fighting skills upon seeing them only once. He can most likely also survive in space but not certain. In terms of his healing ability, we can see that he does in fact take damage. And his final fight against Goku and Vegeta he was taking damage and getting tired from having to heal over and over. I imagine there is a limit to how many times boo can regenerate after devastating attacks like being blown up or having holes blown through his stomach. But he’s just so strong that he can do it for quite some time. Before being hit with the spirit bomb you can see that his strength was beginning to fade even though Goku and Vegeta struggled to beat him. So it’s interesting how not only did Toriyama make opponents grow in strength , each subsequent enemy had more remarkable healing abilities and stranger powers.

The main issue is its not that Buu is getting stronger its that Goku is getting weaker. As cool as the SSJ3 form looks it has a major limitation. That is that it burns away energy quickly. Goku went into the form to be able to stand a chance against Buu and keep up with power. What Goku didn’t count on was how durable Majin Buu is and just keeps taking hits and coming back while SSJ3 form burns up all of his energy Majin Buus energy stays the same. You will see more of this later on in the saga.

Goku was stronger than Buu during the whole fight. He even knocked away Buu's Kamehameha. I think Buu just keeps raising her power to match his opponent. When he was hatched, no one was worried. When he attacked Dabura, Gohan crapped his pants and flew away. When Buu fought Vegeta he raised his power more. And he's doing it again to compete with Goku.

This death always feels so cathartic for me. Babidi is and always will be a terrible villain not just for this arc/saga but all of DB in general. Always whining about not getting his way, crying over his losses, cowardly, and not being threatening on his own merits outside of his introduction. His annoying voice just adds to the problem too. If Dabura had taken Babidi's place and name, he'd have been a much better villain for the Buu Saga. Good old gods (Kais) vs demons (Majins) for this new saga. So Buu killing Babidi never gets old.

Ok so in this sequence goku actually is stronger than majin buu it’s pretty clear you can see it in the fight goku always had the edge in battle the problem is majin buus healing factor it’s too ridiculous even more so than cells who always came back so the damage that goku is doing isn’t helping cause buu just heals back up again he’s like a magical slimy creature him putting himself together like that is child’s play also gokus Ki is draining faster than ever if he had the same time as a ssj 1 or even a ssj 2 he would’ve lasted a lot longer for sure maybe even found a way to win if he did a huge attack

Goku couldn't beat him by himself. It wasn't until later where this was retconned when Goku said he might have beaten Fat boo if he used every last bit his power before fighting Kid buu who is a much stronger opponent.

SSJ3 Goku is such a highlight. Really funny that this was an ass pull by Toriyama. He stated that when he realized he needed Goku to fight Buu, he had a problem. Goku was Vegeta's equal at SSJ2, but Vegeta couldn't stand up to Buu. So how does he have Goku fight an opponent that he already established could beat him? Give Goku a new form. Even funnier is that he later thought this was SSJ2 as he didn't really do much to differentiate SSJ and SSJ2 apart from the lightning. Which is also why there's always confusion on whether someone is SSJ2 or not.

IIRC it was later retconned so that Bibidi didn't create Buu, he found him. What Bibidi did was figure out how to control him (as much as anyone could) by bribing him with sweets and using his power to destroy what he wanted.
