As a teenager, I watched that same "Pennywhistlers" episode on my "local Public Broadcasting Station...Thank You" Thirty years later, two CD albums by The Bulgarian State Television Female Vocal Choir were purchased & played over and over and over.

In 1966when Pete put them on Rainbow Quest, here in the Bay Area, lots and lots of young folks and many older folks were dancing kolo and singing from the songs we got from Koutev Ensemble and watching Parajanov's masterpiece, "Shadows of our Forgotten ancestors" about the Hutsul people it seemed like our entire generation was fixated with this gorgeous music & the traditional dances that went to it. Let's revive that interest. Check out Kitka and Davka.
