This anime has been a real gem so far. Some episodes are just lighthearted fun and other episodes are really deep and interesting, and quite dark. I also love how this show actually respects my intelligence as a person and does not go out of it's way to explain every little thing that doesn't need explaining. The animation quality is very decent (if it ever uses CGI then it is extremely hard to notice), the way how the episodes are structured lends itself perfectly to explore the interesting world building this anime has, and this is just me but I am a sucker for magic. I am not talking about magic with overly-complicated systems that don't have any deep connection to the themes or plot *cough cough*. I am talking about "Harry Potter" styled magic. Magic from some Ghibli films (Howl's Moving Castle comes to mind). Magic that is simple to perceive yet is still filled with an amazing fantastical wonder. Magic that never tells what it's rules are, leaving the audience to guess what can and cannot be done. Majo no Tabitabi has exactly that and I love it. Again, probably just me. I really like the main character. They don't have a long character arc (though the little development that they do go through is strong enough to make me care for them personally), and their character just says that they are a mildly out of the ordinary girl going about their daily life. To some people, those points would be minuses, some people would say that that would make for a boring character. The people who do say that would have a fair argument, but this show really isn't about the main character. The show is about the main character traveling through the world, and the light but "strong enough" development they get at the very start of the series is essentially perfect for telling the kind of story this anime wants to tell, that being multiple different kinds of stories told from the perspective of a travelling witch coming and going on their way. Some stories are silly and lighthearted, while other are somewhat morbid and makes you ask yourself multiple things. Another thing I really like about this show is how past episodes are casually referenced by the main character. This show isn't like Pokemon or other similar "hundred-episode anime" where a large majority of the episodes are self-contained and can literally take place anytime in-between 2 major plot points. Elaina (our main character) references the events of past episodes with her own voice. [Spoilers for Episode 9 and other Episodes of Majo no Tabitabi] I really like how in this Episode, when Elaina and the new character are discussing using magic to time travel that they say that magic can be produced by things that the caster owns, in which Elaina points out "your voice" and "memories" as examples, which is a direct callback to 2 different episodes. 1 episode which involves a witch who sacrifices her own voice to make a sword that would prevent people from speaking lies, and another episode where a princess gives up her memories to make a large barrier to protect herself from an evil monster. And the thing is, in Episode 9, the new character (I apologize for forgetting her name) uses her own memories as fuel for her magic after Elaina removes the magic sharing ring, a plot device that was used in a past episode and I LOVE that. Not only is it an interesting callback but it also benefits the story of the episode and that is amazing to me. [Spoilers end here] On top of Majo no Tabitabi, other amazing anime airing this season include Ikebukuro West Gate Park and Akudama Drive. I stuck around watching Akudama Drive from the very beginning, mainly because I heard about it by being a part of the Danganronpa fandom. I also really like IWGP so far. I cannot wait to see how these 3 anime turn out when their last episode air, especially Majo no Tabitabi and Akudama Drive. ... Oh cod, I wrote too much again didn't I?

Oh you mean Estelle? Also when I read that in light novel 3 (what became episode 9) I got sad and when I saw it in the anime I found it even sadder, but so beautiful animated and the voice actors are amazing. Episode 10 was nice.

THIS. I've always loved magic ever since I was a kid thanks to Harry Potter. After seeing countless isekai + magic animes, as you've mentioned, they don't have deep connection to the plot. This anime, however, gave me those Harry Potter vibes I've gotten when I was a kid and now I love this anime and magic even more than before. I can truly say it was a good idea to check and see if this anime was worth watching or not, and before I knew it, I got hooked. Sadly tomorrow's the last episode but all's well that ends well.

I just watched and damn, and I thought 2 and 3 we're kinda dark but ep 9 with the whole no OP at all and the warnings is much darker {Spoiler} but isn't there a way that estele can kill Selena in a easier way than that which will gonna give you nightmare for some time, but damn with the whole "plot twist" With Selena being the murderer and there's no such thing as "a robber" And "a robbery that ends up killing Selena parents" But (I found this clue by another guy on the internet) that the parents were killed by getting stab repeatedly and the uncle died bcs being stab repeatedly, they already set up a clue but almost no one saw it and Elaine didn't do her job properly, I mean she did give estele magic so that she wouldn't die right there in that spot but she was supposed to protect estele and therefore it explains on why she didn't take the money
