Great lesson. There is no magic, we have to do the hard work of building familiarity and enjoy the journey. The steps make a lot of sense. Thank you. Off to practice ....

This might be helpful for some fusion jam session. But in order to learn jazz, the fret diagrams, fret positions are not helpful. Jazz lines work diffrently. Best is regular music notation.

HAHA 🤖 - that was from when my camera SD card got corrupted and I had to go through a very frustrating recovery process to get the footage back - got most of it to recover but not without the cyborg glitches... 🦾 🦿 🤣

@@soundguitar LOL, glad to hear you're a fair sport about that trouble. We do what we can. I feel sorry for pointing it out now, knowing the turmoil you went through to get this video uploaded. 😂😂 Sorry. Rock on, Jared! And thanks as always. So much great stuff packed into each and every video of yours. Have a great one!

I love your channel. Couple of things I would like in an ideal world. You have already a lot of lessons. Request#1: Would it be possible to organise them into some kind of playlist where the list progressively moves from basic to advanced. I find myself jumping around your channel, without fully understanding the connective tissue between each lesson. In other words I am doing exercises without making music. Request #2: I enjoy inventing melody lines. I would like to be able to apply chords to my melody lines. However, I find that there are so many choices. Is there a method which would steer and limit the selection of chords to a melody line? Knowing off by heart the notes within every chord requires years of practice. And heah, I'm not Mozart ( my fav! ). Many Thanks !

Hi Vince. Thanks so much for the feedback and requests! I do have all my lessons organized into playlists, but not necessarily in progression of difficulty. I do have "beginners" playlist. Good idea. I look into making "intermediate" and "advanced" playlists as well. For now, checkout my playlists tab and see if that's helpful for organization. kzbin.infoplaylists Speaking of the playlists, check out my chord melodies playlist for harmonizing melodies: kzbin.info/aero/PLho65cYn4nF229QsNwRGzRq2bWQL__c-L I know it's not exactly what you're asking for, but it should help some. As for a quick answer on the harmonizing melodies, just consider the chords that are within a key at first, then every melody note that needs to be harmonize can just have three options only - it can be the root of the chord, the 3rd of the chord, or the 5th of the chord. This is a great way to go about it. Let me know if that helps! thanks -Jared

I feel like this is how Julian Lage practices haha. You were running through those and it reminded of some of his songs and how he bounces around chromatically
@soundguitar2 жыл бұрын
I took a lesson from him many years ago. It was awesome. And then I just saw him perform recently. Yeah, he loves playing freely and chromatically like that :) Great observation!
