As an audio engineer, I think the right mic for the job is the one you’ve been using. Sennheiser owns Neumann, and it has that legacy, but it’s more for singing and more musical use. If you want it to sound great, you need some great preamps to get it right. It’s also clipping. The clipping and timbre of it for your use case is a massive step down from your Sennheiser shotgun mic. I didn’t see an issue before that needed a solution. Use the Neumann if you’re going yo do music and want to have a bunch of nice preamps to make it sound great (which takes up more room). I wouldn’t use it for what you’re doing here.
