Anchor is more reasonable than the ex Pakistan Foreign Secretary Chawdhry , who as usual, cannot get over his strong anti India bias . Pakistan has nothing to offer to Bangladesh except its Islamic ideology, which will not help Bangladesh. There's is a strong anti Pakistani lobby in Bangladesh as there is also an anti India sentiment in the form of Jammat I Islam extremism in Bangladesh. Depends , which lobby / sentiment is prevalent at a particular time . Presently, anti India sentiment is on upsurge , possibly due to Hasina being unpopular. But Bangla nationalism is not hostile to India . Let Bangladesh get over its economic woes first India knows about the situation . Pakistan can gloat on lresent India Bangladesh relations , like Taliban takeover of Afghanistan, but it is a minor player , at best . I have visited Bangladesh in 2012 and have some idea of the country .

(like, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam never went to madrasas, there are many such examples) In Bangladesh you force minorities to either convert or resign from jobs. In 1971 pak army could capture no Awamileague MPs who fled easily to India but attacked civilians including killing....that was a great mistake as that forced people to leave East Pakistan,So India could take the opportunity. West Bengal people never demanded Bangla as National language.but why East Bengal or east Pakistan? The leadercould not tackle the situation. I went to Bangladesh in 2012 as part of an Indian study / goodwill tour . On an official tour . I had an opportunity to see / study some Hindu institutions/ Bangladesh institutions . Presently, Islami Groups seem to have upper hand , even if there is some exaggeration on the attacks on Hindu / Buddhist minorities. Also, Sheikh Hasina seems to have become quite unpopular possibly due to her long rule. However , It is not for nothing that Hindu minority is now only 8 % in Bangladesh. They have got eased out / kicked out of East Pakistan because of Islamic pressure/ terror, etc , over time . This is despite there being also a separate and parallel Bangla Nationalist ( less Islami )sentiment present there , which is more accommodating of Hindus and other minorities as Chakmas . Bangladesh is possibly a shallow State with a shallow economy that has been exposed now .Despite some silver linings , its success was being hyped . But yes , definitely Bangladesh is more hospitable for Hindus / Chakmas etc as compared to Pakistan track record vis a vis Hindu , Sikhs and Christians etc Pakistan is a gone case that way. Bangladesh is relatively hospitable to Hindus , though many of them do feel pressurized because of their smaller numbers, especially in rural areas of Bangladesh.
