I have two sets of sheets for every bed (including duvet covers) specifically so I can immediately remake a bed after I take the dirty sheets off. It means that the “changing the bed” task is over all at once and I don’t have to wait two hours for laundry to finish. I do the kids beds once a week and our bed every other week.

Hi Emily, if you think the dust is bad now just wait until plastering starts. That dust is even worse. I would recommend as you mentioned doing taping all around the doors. We also bought large sheets of plastic which completely covered the doors and taped all around too. This significantly reduced dust. You haven't said if the stair carpet is going? If not you may want to consider plastic carpet protector which is sticky and comes on a roll. Safe too as it contours the shape of the stairs and is easy to remove afterwards. Available in Screwfix etc. Great news about having water, it will makes things easier for sure. Keep focused on the finished fantastic home to come.

I love that your living through the renos. I totally would as well. It's like the delayed gratification of going through a little hardship/challenge and having such a great reward after. Love it.

I'm the exact same as you with washing bedding... I wash flat sheet and fitted sheet weekly in the warmer months and every two weeks during the colder months purely because i line dry everything outside in the sun (Australia) and that can be hit or miss in the Winter so you have to pick the perfect day.... AND i wash pillowcases every week... AND i wash duvet cover every month. (because having a flat sheet means that it doesn't get dirty... mainly just dusty)

We lived in our house during a big reno of our kitchen, dining; living and laundry. Omg the dust!! The dust managed to get upstairs in the bedrooms - through the ducts/vents. I bought two air purifiers and it made a huge difference. Recommend getting a couple of portable ones. Regards from Australia.
@ButacuPpucatuB2 жыл бұрын
If by chance the dust becomes a bigger issue, you can place plastic sheets over the door frames, and this acts like an extra barrier to prevent dust creeping in. Air filters and fans can help too. You’re doing well by hoovering and wiping down surfaces too. A tour of your temporary kitchen would be lovely 🥰🥰

Hello Emily you can buy dust proof doorway covers. They tape to the door frame and have 2 zips on the walk through bit, so you can undo, walk through and reclose to keep dust out. My brother is using them on his home while walls are being demolished and we will use them on our daughter’s first home when she alters an extension. I believe they are widely available and are called Dustguard. Hope this helps.

Hi Emily was Kiki chewing a raw hide chew? If she is you might want to have a look at where this is derived from - it’s from the leather industry not food and it’s full of nasty chemicals. I’m not a fanatic and I used them myself on our pup until I found out the process. It’s important to keep giving Kiki things to chew , try natural chews instead. This honestly isn’t a criticism but some genuine advice. And I can’t wait to see the next stage of the renovation.
