how have you managed to deal with it for so long and still have the courage to continue living? I'm turning 30 this year, and I've always felt that I was too much of a coward to ever commit suicide, but this past little while, the depression/anxiety and anhedonia has gotten so bad that I just can't imagine living with it (and likely having it get progressively worse) for another however many decades before I die

Ok they throw me on another pill that doesnt work when I do reach out for help or tell me to get up and exercise as if I could just get the up. Sometimes I get really mad seeing this because im Over here begging for help watching every video there is and i still feel screwed. Whats the point in knowing all this stuff if it really doesnt ever get cured.

Thinking about your family who has a broken fam and sometimes you just feel empty or suddenly cry is part of mdd?
@Alex-cg3tq2 жыл бұрын
This was a while ago, but yes. Feeling empty and crying often can be signs of MDD. I got diagnosed a few years ago and before that I thought feeling empty was normal but apparently it can be a sign of MDD.

Not to say I have depression, because I was never diagnosed, but I do notice I experience some of the following. Started a few years ago up until now, I have lost interest in a lot of things, including even my most favorite hobbies. After I started to lose interest in everything, I began to lose motivation, always lying around and trying to find a reason to leave my room. I also find it very, very difficult to concentrate, which my doctors only assume it's A.D.D. Although I can't take medication for it because, according to my mother, it makes me very cranky after school ends. Besides all that, I don't experience constant thoughts and ideas of taking my own life. I can only hope this is a phase, since I'm only 15 years of age. All I do is sleep and wait for a miracle to happen. But... If any professional out there can tell me the best place to find out exactly, that would be cool too.

The best way to go is to see a therapist. I’m diagnosed with MDD and have an appointment for a psych eval to see if I need meds. I’ve had this since I was your age and just now, at 26, sought out help for it. Don’t wait, take care of your mental health now.
@reinhartdevera26444 жыл бұрын
Im also 15 well and fully diagnosed with mdd anxiety and adhd. I think to be considered to have mdd u need to show at-least 7 symptoms. You might just be confused and lost but eventually u’ll find new hobbies and motivation. But make sure you go to a therapist to fully know.

I meet 8 of the criteria since over 1.5 years, at times i meet 9 criteria. When i went to a therapist, she just shrugged it off as "a phase of becoming an adult" and told me that it's nothing to worry about. So um... Yea.

I think I have a combination of disorders. I’m diagnosed with MMD but when I listen the bipolar disorder speech I think that too. And I’m taking quetiapine and vrylar which is for squizophrenia . So don’t know what to think, I know I’m down all the time. Sometimes buying stuff like tennis make me feel better but I already bought 15 so I can’t do anymore. There is something that trigger my depression such as knowing that my 3sister have a group to communicate among them and didn’t invite me to be part of it. To realize that hurt me really A lot. They treat me like I’m nothing but an old bucket in the middle of the street.

I had this experience as well. This is the case for some based on genetic chemistry. I do well with SNRI’s and take Cymbalta. I also took a genetic test that proved to be very accurate and explained all the trial and errors of the previous medications ive tried in the past. I definitely recommend getting this test done. It saved me a lot more headache wasting time and making myself ill trying meds that dont work well for my chemistry ecr.

self diagnosis scares me but i have 8 of the symptoms. i can't seem to sleep properly and i wake up sad/anxious and nothing is interesting to me at all. general hopelessness and i feel guilty about being unproductive a lot and i don't know what to do. i think about death a lot and while i would never act upon them, i have suicidal thoughts a lot recently. gonna try upping my exercise i guess but i would love to lose my dread. i need a big change in my current life, and im just waiting on it. its a vicious cycle though; im not able to focus because i feel depressed and i feel hopeless and guilty because i cant focus

I have all of them but I have a question regarding pschyomotor agitation and retardation like mostly my facial expressions are always dull and not in a happy mood or something I have a slump like a camel posture always have muscle tension in the back but in verbal I would rather take gaps in between and talk and respond sometimes fast and slow at the same time so in pschyomotor retardation do we need to talk slowly everyday to meet the creteria or it can interchange in the vocal form like fast and slow talking both..??

The Environmental section was really brushed over....why is that? Also, so funny that "lower social economic status" and lacking community support are just sort of categorized as "other" when we know that those are huge contibutors to so many mental health issues or making worse pre-existing mental health issues. I'm going to guess that you're rich and/or have always have access to healthcare. Why else would you put these things into an "other" category?

Desvenlafaxine worked for my MDD. I was so fatigued and hurt everywhere, down for no reason, everything felt like a chore… there was no true Joy. Even with the things I knew SHOULD make me happy, it would feel like I would be playing emotions, not feeling truly feeling/experiencing them. After just 3 weeks on Desvenlafaxine (my first ever medication which was hard for me to accept I may need help) I felt younger, happier, I started lifting weights more and sleeping soundly. I feel less stressed, hasn’t helped my anxiety as much as I would like but I do feel less anxious than before because i feel so much better physically. Bonus: I noticed better circulation in my hands and Feet which was an added Bonus for someone with raynauds syndrome! I feel like I got my life back!
