I was blessed to enjoy California during its modern conservative era. AR-15's, HK 91's, you name it! We bought and sold weapons and ammunition at shops, gun shows, and even through classified ads in the Recycler and other publications. We left years ago because of the insanity... ​@@freedomseeds4713 The decision in favor of the State of California was vacated, and my case was remanded back to the district court "for proceedings consistent with NYSRPA v. Bruen" in September of 2022. Governor Newsom and AG Bonta told the district court that it did not have to comply with the court of appeals order; the magistrate judge agreed, and I filed an objection, but the district court judge overruled my objection. As a result of the court's refusal to comply with the order of the court of appeals, a decision on the State's motion for summary judgment (filed on October 4th), is not due until February 3rd. Or at least the local rules of the Central district require a decision by then. However, given that Judge Skyes refuses to abide by the court of appeals order, I won't be surprised if she refuses to comply with the local court rules. If she doesn't comply, the local rules require both sides to file a joint notice with the chief judge for the district. I had to file the same notice in 2014 to force Judge Otero (since retired) to issue his final judgment in my case. My hope is that there will be a favorable judgment by the Court of Appeals in the Baird v. Bonta case before then. Unhappily, the likely course of events will be that the 9th Circuit three-judge panel will uphold Judge Benitez’s ruling, which will then immediately be stayed pending California’s appeal to the 9th Circuit en banc panel, which will, after a lengthy delay, rule that the state’s ammunition restrictions are constitutional and thereby overturn the lower court’s rulings. The Supreme Court will then likely hear an appeal of this decision, and sometime around 2029, it will issue a final ruling that could either overturn the ammunition restrictions or not, depending on the 2A stance of several new Supreme Court justices.

Don’t think that is true that you can’t sue judges. Saw a judge I knew be sued over something in the court an attorney didn’t like. It happens the attorney was a sleaze that ended up being disbarred but that was for other criminal actions after the suit was over. But this was several decades ago so maybe it’s changed now.
