He a general
@styleroler58162 жыл бұрын
@@neverwinta7702 why does that matter? You don't get less prone to fainting as you grow in age. British Coldstream guards are also famous for fainting at attention at their posts because they wear those extremely hot uniforms. Lots of situations can make even physically fit soldiers at risk to faint if in extremely constructive situations for long periods of time.

What about people working at grocery stores or restaurants standing for 6-8 hours? I don’t see them fainting
@styleroler58162 жыл бұрын
@@jordanbrock8199 they're not locking their knees and remaining completely still. The human body is not designed to stand without moving. Standing requires the heart to pump the blood much harder, and that requires some level of physical exertion to increase heart rate. Something as little as shaking your leg or moving your hands can often be more than enough, but standing completely still without any kind of body readjustments can be extremely dangerous. This is well known in the military, which is why for instance soldiers on guard duty regularly march back and forth a few feet every couple of minutes. This is intentional to give the body the ability to increase the blood flow and decrease the risk of fainting. Standing completely still at attention for instance is usually the worst situation you can be in when it comes to this risk. When it comes to super market store workers, yes they are standing, but I think for obvious reasons you can understand that they are not standing completely still. It is your natural instinct to move, and you're not gonna do it without intentionally making an effort not yo move.

Back in the early 90's while serving in the Lifeguards, I fainted, the weight of the uniform & the heat that day was overwhelming, when I came around & gathered my emotions I was then marched to regimental prison cells & spent the rest of the day being beasted, British soldiers would be punished for fainting while on guard duty, shocking really I was fatigued & shattered for days after.

That was a vasovagal attack, when blood pressure drop and not enough of it can reach the brain. Treatment is to bring head lower, so that gravity helps blood reaching brain. Keeping head and person upright risks permanent brain damage. So, when someone faints, lay them flat on the ground, with no pillow, and lift the legs up so that enough blood finds it easier to reach brain rather than legs.

Only thing I could find on this as to “why” he fainted was a response that he was sick with the flu at the time. Who knows if that’s the truth or your usual PR response. Derreck Jones in the military we are taught to do it so subtle that you can’t notice because your pants are slightly big. So even if it’s subtle, you can do it every minute or so.
@Ghaffar_KH4 жыл бұрын
Derreck Jones Just like John said, standing up straight with your knees locked means most of your blood flow will go down towards your legs, this is is normal because when walking the pressure of that helps bring it back up; when the knee’s are locked and you’re standing, not a lot of blood is coming back up to the heart, which means not a lot of blood is going to the brain-hence, he fainted. Some people actually use this as punishment, especially in the military.

Dont assume this gentleman fainted only just from exhaustion, or stress from standing for a long period of time. Numerous other things could have caused this to happen, like low blood sugar, significant dehydration, certain medications, and plenty of other medical issues. I highly doubt he fainted from just exhaustion or stress though, this guy is a very experienced military member and isnt affected so easily by such petty issues that they have been trained to deal with and have alot of experience coping with with in the field like extreme exhaustion (sometimes not sleeping for days), in some of the most difficult, unforgiving terrain one may ever experience. In the end who knows what's really going on with him. I just think its important to remain open minded when it come to situations such as this.
